Grand Hotel Stockholm · NorrmalmWith every booking through suitespot you receive a comprehensive package of suitespot benefits:The city's best-known addresses line the Blasieholmen quay opposite the Royal Palace: the Grand Hôtel Stockholm (from around 326 €) – rated 4.7, the best-rated property in our Stockholm portfolio – and, immediately beside it, the Lydmar Hotel (327 €). On the Nybrokajen follows the Strand Hotel, a Radisson Collection (150 €), the lowest entry rate in the city, and on Norrmalmstorg the Nobis Hotel (244 €).
The highest entry rate in our portfolio is Ett Hem at around 630 €. In Östermalm follow the Villa Dagmar on Nybrogatan (300 €) and the Hotel Diplomat on Strandvägen (214 €); in the city centre, the Nordic Light at Vasaplan (270 €), the Bank Hotel on Arsenalsgatan (241 €) and the Hotel at Six on Brunkebergstorg (175 €). In the old town of Gamla Stan sits the Hotel Reisen on Skeppsbron (178 €), and in Södermalm the Stockholm Stadshotell (290 €).
Stockholm is unusual in our portfolio for how evenly priced it is once you set aside the top of the range. Two properties stand well above the rest – Ett Hem at around 630 € and the Grand Hôtel Stockholm at 326 € – and then nine of the twelve start between 150 and 300 €.
Hotel at Six Stockholm · NorrmalmWhat that means in practice: unless you are set on one of those two, the decision here is about location and character, not budget. And in a city built on fourteen islands, location means one question above all – does the room face the water?Personal luxury travel adviceOur travel advisors personally accompany your booking – 365 days a year, from the first offer to late check-out. Reach the suitespot VIP service via email or WhatsApp.Phone: +49 30 81452346 · hotel@suitespot.comThe Grand Hôtel makes this explicit by naming its categories after it: Junior Water View and Executive Water View alongside Superior and Junior. On the same quay stands the Lydmar Hotel (327 €); on the Nybrokajen, the Strand Hotel with its Sea Salon suite (150 €). From Skeppsbron in Gamla Stan, the Hotel Reisen looks back across to Blasieholmen (178 €).
One figure worth knowing for points collectors: four of the twelve properties belong to iPrefer – the strongest iPrefer presence anywhere in our European portfolio.
The single biggest variable in Stockholm is the season – more so than in any other European city we cover. In June and July it barely gets dark: the city lives on the water, the archipelago ferries run, and evenings stretch towards midnight. That is the finest and the most expensive time to come.
In December and January, by contrast, there are only a few hours of daylight. In exchange, rates are at their lowest, restaurants take bookings without weeks of notice, and the museums are empty – for a trip built around design, museums and food, that is a genuine option rather than a compromise. May, August and September sit between the two.
Second, a practical note: a hire car is pointless in Stockholm. The metro is quick, the centre is walkable, and in summer the commuter ferries to the archipelago are the pleasantest connection there is – they leave from Blasieholmen and Nybrokajen, directly outside the hotels.
Third, the programmes: iPrefer leads with four properties, followed by the Leaders Club, Marriott Bonvoy, World of Hyatt and Radisson Rewards with one each. Four properties take part in no loyalty programme.
Stockholm's centre spreads across several islands – the distances are short, but the districts could hardly differ more.
Hotel Reisen Stockholm · Kvarteret LunaThese five areas cover our portfolio.
The city's first address, opposite the Royal Palace: the Grand Hôtel Stockholm at Södra Blasieholmshamnen 8 (from around 326 €, rated 4.7) with its Junior and Executive Water View suites; the Lydmar Hotel immediately beside it (327 €); the Strand Hotel, a Radisson Collection on the Nybrokajen with Presidential, Sea Salon and Tower suites (150 €); and the Nobis Hotel on Norrmalmstorg (244 €).
Quiet, well-heeled and home to the city's best shops: the Villa Dagmar on Nybrogatan beside the Östermalms Saluhall market hall (300 €) and the Hotel Diplomat on Strandvägen, the waterfront promenade (214 €).
The busy heart around the central station and the shopping streets: the Nordic Light Hotel at Vasaplan, directly at the station (270 €), the Bank Hotel on Arsenalsgatan with its Stockholm Town, Bank Director and Bank Heritage suites (241 €) and the Hotel at Six on Brunkebergstorg (175 €).
One address on the old town island: the Hotel Reisen on Skeppsbron, the quay facing Blasieholmen (178 €), with Corner, Chapman, Nordic Spa and Stockholm suites. The palace, the Storkyrkan and the old town lanes are on the doorstep.
The liveliest and least formal part of the city: the Stockholm Stadshotell on Björngårdsgatan (290 €). If you want the Stockholm that is not on the postcards, this is where to stay.
Because Stockholm is built on islands, the same rule applies here as in Venice or Istanbul: a water view is a category of its own, and a limited one – which is why two rooms in the same property can sit far apart on price.
Nobis Hotel Stockholm · NorrmalmThe Grand Hôtel Stockholm makes this plainest by naming its categories accordingly: Junior Water View and Executive Water View alongside Superior and Junior (from around 380 €). On the Nybrokajen, the Strand Hotel offers a Sea Salon suite plus Presidential and Tower (150 €), and from Skeppsbron the Hotel Reisen looks back across to Blasieholmen (178 €).
The widest range overall belongs to Ett Hem, with seven categories – three Residence types plus Junior, Mezzanine, Corner and Attic (630 €). It is followed by the Bank Hotel with four, including Bank Director and Bank Heritage (241 €), the Hotel Reisen also with four (178 €), the Nobis Hotel with Corner, Panorama and Nobis (244 €) and the Hotel Diplomat with Executive and Spacious (214 €).
Only one property in Stockholm lists a dedicated family category: the Stockholm Stadshotell in Södermalm (290 €). If you are travelling with children, tell our travel advisors before booking – they will check which room combinations work elsewhere.
The highest entry rate is Ett Hem at around 630 € per night – by a clear margin, since the second most expensive, the Lydmar Hotel on Blasieholmen, starts at 327 €.
They are followed by the Grand Hôtel Stockholm (326 €), the Villa Dagmar in Östermalm (300 €), the Stockholm Stadshotell in Södermalm (290 €) and the Nordic Light at the central station (270 €).
By rating, the Grand Hôtel Stockholm leads with 4.7 – the only rating we have given in Stockholm, and one of the highest anywhere in our European portfolio.
At the other end, the Strand Hotel, a Radisson Collection on the Nybrokajen, starts at around 150 € – notable because it stands on the same stretch of water as the Grand Hôtel and the Lydmar. Then come the Hotel at Six (175 €) and the Hotel Reisen (178 €), the Hotel Diplomat (214 €), the Bank Hotel (241 €) and Nobis Hotel (244 €).
With a median entry rate of around 250 € per night, Stockholm sits above Copenhagen (228 €), Prague (233 €) and Palma (235 €) – on a range pulled upwards mainly by a single property.
What our travel advisors arrange most often in Stockholm are days out in the archipelago – the roughly 30,000 islands off the city, which in summer are the real attraction – early slots at the Vasa Museum and Fotografiska, and tables at restaurants that fill weeks ahead.Personal luxury travel adviceOur travel advisors personally accompany your booking – 365 days a year, from the first offer to late check-out. Reach the suitespot VIP service via email or WhatsApp.Phone: +49 30 81452346 · hotel@suitespot.comFor orientation: the archipelago ferries leave from Blasieholmen and the Nybrokajen, directly outside the hotels. Gamla Stan, the Royal Palace and Djurgården with its museums are walkable or minutes away from the central addresses. Arlanda airport is twenty minutes from the central station by Arlanda Express – where one of our properties, the Nordic Light, stands directly beside the platforms.
As a suitespot guest you travel with VIP status: we pass your preferences to the hotel before you arrive – in Stockholm above all the water view, which is a separate and limited category everywhere. On top of that, every property includes breakfast for two, an upgrade subject to availability and up to 100 USD hotel credit – at Scandinavian price levels, a noticeable share of what the trip costs.
suitespot rates are genuine direct rates: you keep earning regular points and elite nights in the hotel's loyalty program and retain your status benefits – on top of your suitespot benefits. These programs are represented in Stockholm:
| Program | Hotels | Examples in Stockholm |
|---|---|---|
| I Prefer | 4 hotels | Hotel at Six Stockholm, Villa Dagmar Stockholm, Nordic Light Hotel Stockholm … |
| Leaders Club | 1 hotel | Grand Hotel Stockholm |
| Marriott Bonvoy | 1 hotel | Nobis Hotel Stockholm |
| Radisson Rewards | 1 hotel | Strand Hotel Stockholm Radisson Collection Hotel |
| World of Hyatt | 1 hotel | Hotel Reisen Stockholm |
Entry rates for our 12 luxury hotels in Stockholm start at around 150 € per night (Strand Hotel, a Radisson Collection on the Nybrokajen) and reach about 630 € per night at Ett Hem. The median entry rate is around 250 € per night.
The range is pulled upwards mainly by one property: Ett Hem sits well above the second most expensive, the Lydmar Hotel at 327 €. Nine of the twelve start between 150 and 300 € – so unless you are set on one of those two, the decision here is about location rather than budget. With suitespot you always book at direct rates, and the benefits worth more than 500 € come on top.
Stockholm is built on islands – the distances are short, but the districts differ sharply.
The Blasieholmen quay opposite the Royal Palace is the city's first address: the Grand Hôtel (from around 326 €, rated 4.7), the Lydmar (327 €), the Nobis (244 €) and the Strand Hotel on the Nybrokajen (150 €).
Östermalm is the elegant residential quarter (Villa Dagmar 300 €, Hotel Diplomat 214 €); Norrmalm is the busy centre (Nordic Light 270 €, Bank Hotel 241 €, Hotel at Six 175 €). In Gamla Stan, the old town, sits the Hotel Reisen (178 €); in Södermalm, the Stockholm Stadshotell (290 €) – the liveliest and least formal part of the city.
Because Stockholm is built on fourteen islands, a water view is a category of its own here – as the canal view is in Venice or the Bosphorus view in Istanbul.
The Grand Hôtel Stockholm on Södra Blasieholmshamnen makes it explicit, naming its categories Junior Water View and Executive Water View (from around 380 €). The Lydmar Hotel stands immediately beside it (327 €), and on the Nybrokajen the Strand Hotel offers a Sea Salon suite (150 €).
From Skeppsbron in Gamla Stan, the Hotel Reisen looks back across to Blasieholmen (178 €), and the Hotel Diplomat sits on Strandvägen, Östermalm's waterfront promenade (214 €).
Important: the view is a separate category everywhere and costs considerably more than the courtyard side. Register the request through our travel advisors before you book.
Yes. suitespot rates are full direct rates: you earn the usual points and status nights in the relevant hotel programme. One figure stands out in Stockholm: four of the twelve properties belong to iPrefer – the Hotel at Six, the Villa Dagmar, the Nordic Light and the Hotel Diplomat. That is the strongest iPrefer presence anywhere in our European portfolio.
Alongside them are the Leaders Club (Grand Hôtel Stockholm), Marriott Bonvoy (Nobis Hotel), World of Hyatt (Hotel Reisen) and Radisson Rewards (Strand Hotel) with one each.
Four properties take part in no programme – Ett Hem, the Lydmar Hotel, the Bank Hotel and the Stockholm Stadshotell. Your status benefits apply everywhere; the suitespot benefits come in addition.
By our rating it is the Grand Hôtel Stockholm on Södra Blasieholmshamnen, opposite the Royal Palace, at 4.7 – the only rating we have given in Stockholm and one of the highest anywhere in our European portfolio. Entry is around 380 €, and the Junior and Executive Water View categories look across the Strömmen to the old town.
The highest rate, however, belongs to a different property: Ett Hem at around 630 €. With seven categories – three Residence types plus Mezzanine and Attic suites – it also has the widest suite range in the city.
Which is right for you comes down to the district. Our travel advisors will place them for your dates.
The season matters more in Stockholm than in any other European city we cover.
In June and July it barely gets dark: the city lives on the water, the archipelago ferries run, and evenings stretch towards midnight. That is the finest and most expensive time. May, August and September are a good compromise of light, weather and price.
In December and January there are only a few hours of daylight. In exchange, rates are at their lowest, restaurants take bookings without weeks of notice and the museums are empty – for a trip built around design, museums and food, that is a genuine option rather than a compromise.
Both make good trips, but very different ones. Tell our travel advisors what matters most to you.
The lowest entry rate is the Strand Hotel, a Radisson Collection on the Nybrokajen, at around 150 € per night. What makes it notable is that it stands on the same stretch of water as the Grand Hôtel and the Lydmar – in Stockholm, the waterfront carries less of a premium than you would expect.
Next come the Hotel at Six on Brunkebergstorg (175 €) and the Hotel Reisen in Gamla Stan (178 €), the Hotel Diplomat on Strandvägen (214 €), the Bank Hotel (241 €) and Nobis Hotel (244 €).
The Hotel Reisen is the most interesting case: in the middle of the old town, with four suite categories and a view from Skeppsbron, at a rate in the lower third of the city.
Not in our portfolio at present – our Swedish selection consists entirely of Stockholm. If you are looking specifically for a property in Lapland, on the west coast around Gothenburg or in Skåne, we cannot currently offer one. We would rather say so than present a Stockholm address as a nationwide selection.
Within Stockholm the choice is wide: twelve properties across five districts, from the Blasieholmen waterfront through Östermalm and the city centre to Gamla Stan and Södermalm.
And Stockholm is a good base for going further: the archipelago begins directly off the city, and Uppsala is forty minutes away by train. Our travel advisors will put the days together.
