The hotels in Ornos differ less in standard than in location and character. Which address suits which trip is something our travel advisors settle in a conversation – the table is the starting point. Prices shown are entry rates and may include limited-time promotional rates. Our own first choice here is the Santa Marina Resort Mykonos.
| Hotel | Location | suitespot score | Price from |
|---|---|---|---|
| Santa Marina Resort Mykonos | Mykonos Community | ★ 4.2/5 | 607 € |
| Mykonos Blanc | Ornos | ★ 4.0/5 | 376 € |
| Mykonos Ammos Hotel | Mykonos | ★ 4.0/5 | 240 € |
| Myconian O Ornos | Mykonos Community | ★ 3.9/5 | 302 € |
| Kivotos Mykonos | Bay | ★ 3.8/5 | 214 € |
Santa Marina Resort Mykonos · Mykonos CommunityFor this guide we have gathered the best hotels in Ornos: 5 luxury hotels, from 214 euros a night. The luxury hotels in this selection cost between 214 € and 607 € a night, on average 302 €. All five state an entry rate.
Mykonos Blanc · OrnosThe average here is not a calculation but a hotel: the Myconian O Ornos sits at 302 €, exactly in the middle of the five rates.
One orientation note first: four of the five hotels carry ‘Mykonos’ or ‘Myconian’ in their name, none carries ‘Ornos’. You are in the right place all the same – Ornos is a bay on the south-west coast of Mykonos.
Five hotels sounds like five options. In terms of rooms on offer it is closer to one and a half.
We split the 112 room categories in this selection by which hotel they belong to:
• the Santa Marina Resort Mykonos carries 65
• the other four together 47
🚩 So a single hotel accounts for 58 per cent of the selection – more than all the rest. Among 185 destinations compared that is 3rd place; only Rabat and Phuket sit marginally above.
🚩 And it is the dearest hotel in town: 607 € against 214 to 375 € at the other four. So anyone wanting the widest choice of room types in Ornos is almost inevitably steered to the top price.
🚩 The uncomfortable punchline: that same hotel carries a square metre figure for not one of its 65 categories. The largest choice in town is also the worst described.
What that means for your booking: if you are after a particular room – large, sea-facing, with a pool – the path usually runs through that one hotel, and we will have to ask on your behalf. If a clear, described layout matters more to you than the range, the smaller hotels serve you better: at the Kivotos Mykonos, the Mykonos Ammos Hotel and the Myconian O Ornos nearly every category is measured.
Our advice: tell us whether you want range or certainty. At this destination the one practically rules out the other – and we would rather say so beforehand.
The entry point is the Kivotos Mykonos at 214 €, followed by the Mykonos Ammos Hotel at 240 €, the Myconian O Ornos at 302 € and the Mykonos Blanc at 375 €. The Santa Marina Resort Mykonos follows at 607 €.
Mykonos Ammos Hotel · MykonosOur recommendation is the Kivotos Mykonos: it is the cheapest in the selection, carries the second largest catalogue after the leader with 20 and documents 16 of them. Range and certainty sit closest together there.
We give no distances – neither to Mykonos Town nor to the port or the airport: the data holds none.
What the categories reveal: Ornos is a swimming bay, and the catalogue says so plainly: 72 of the 112 categories name the sea. In only 17 is any outlook missing.
🚩 What is notable is that this catalogue grades the sea view: besides 67 plain Sea View there are two Side Sea View, one Partial Sea View and one Beachfront Sea View. Those four say themselves how much water is in the picture – more honest than the blanket term, and the more useful figure for you.
Together the best hotels in this selection carry 112 room categories, and 33 of them state a square metre figure – 29 per cent.
Myconian O Ornos · Mykonos CommunityThe distribution explains the low rate: three hotels document almost completely, two not at all – and one of those is the one with the 65 categories.
Documented are: a Noah suite at 150 square metres, a The Grand O suite at 135, a Hideaway suite at 130, and three further suites at 90 each.
The smallest documented units are a Deluxe room at 26 square metres and a Standard Double and a Superior room at 27 each.
For 33 of the 112 categories the record does not say whether it is a room or a suite – 29 per cent. That is why we give no suite count here. Layout, area and room type are obtained directly from the hotel by our travel advisors before you book.
A night at a 5-star hotel in Ornos costs, in this selection, between 214 € and 607 €, on average 302 €.
The table shows all five hotels in this selection – a rate is recorded for every one. The third column says from which night the suitespot benefits apply.
| Luxury hotel | From | suitespot benefits from |
|---|---|---|
| Kivotos Mykonos | 214 € | 1st night |
| Mykonos Ammos Hotel | 240 € | 2 nights |
| Myconian O Ornos | 302 € | 1st night |
| Mykonos Blanc | 376 € | 1st night |
| Santa Marina Resort Mykonos | 607 € | 1st night |
At four of the five the benefits apply from the first night. The Mykonos Ammos Hotel requires two nights – which rules it out for a single night in passing.
When it is at its best: in May and June and in September. The water is warm enough, the meltemi does not yet blow hard, and the bay is not taken. Our recommendation is September.
In July and August Ornos is one of the busiest bays on the island – if you want quiet, avoid those weeks or choose deliberately a hotel with its own stretch of beach. We will tell you which those are.
From November to March most places close. We tell you beforehand what is open.
And whatever the date: you get the suitespot benefits in the quietest week of the year exactly as in the busiest.
At all five hotels come a hotel credit, the upgrade, breakfast and the early check-in or late check-out. Four benefits without a gap across five hotels – an unusually dense list.
Personal luxury travel adviceOur travel advisors personally accompany your booking – 365 days a year, from the first offer to late check-out. Reach the suitespot VIP service via email or WhatsApp.Phone: +49 30 81452346 · hotel@suitespot.comThen follow points or status benefits at three. A welcome gift and an airport transfer each come at one hotel.
The hotel credit is especially usable here: in a bay where you rarely go far to eat, it usually covers an evening on your own beach.
And the loyalty side: Marriott Bonvoy at two hotels, I Prefer at one. Two are independently run – the Kivotos Mykonos and the Mykonos Ammos Hotel. You collect no points there; the suitespot benefits apply at all five.
The focus of this selection is Marriott Bonvoy. Your status benefits and points stay intact: suitespot books direct rates, not consolidator fares. The programs you will find in Ornos:
At no extra cost: you pay the same rate as booking direct with the hotel – the suitespot benefits come on top, free of charge.
| Program | Hotels | Examples in Ornos |
|---|---|---|
| Marriott Bonvoy | 2 hotels | Santa Marina Resort Mykonos, Myconian O Ornos |
| I Prefer | 1 hotel | Mykonos Blanc |
The Santa Marina Resort Mykonos, with 65 of the 112 categories – more than the other four together. 🚩 It is also the dearest hotel and carries a square metre figure for none of its categories.
In this selection between 214 € and 607 €, on average 302 €. All five hotels state an entry rate.
Not at four of the five. The Mykonos Ammos Hotel requires two nights.
72 of the 112 categories name the sea, and the catalogue grades it: besides Sea View there are Side Sea View, Partial Sea View and Beachfront Sea View. In only 17 is any outlook missing.
33 of 112 categories carry a square metre figure – 29 per cent. The largest documented unit measures 150 square metres, the smallest 26.
Because Ornos is a bay on the south-west coast of Mykonos. Four of the five hotels carry the island’s name, none the bay’s – they all stand here regardless.
At all five hotels in this selection – as are a hotel credit, the upgrade and the early check-in or late check-out.
May and June and September. In July and August the bay is one of the busiest on the island; from November to March most places close.
