Canaves Epitome SantoriniWith every booking through suitespot you receive a comprehensive package of suitespot benefits:The island's best-known properties are in Oia in the north, where the sunset is: the Canaves Epitome (from around 650 €), Andronis Arcadia (629 €), Mystique (600 €), Canaves Oia Suites (500 €), Katikies Pelagos House (460 €), Canaves Ena (410 €) and Domes Novos (310 €).
In Imerovigli, above the caldera, follow the Katikies Chromata (360 €), San Antonio (222 €), Gold Suites (273 €) and On The Rocks (199 €), the lowest entry rate on the island. In Fira, the capital, sit the Cosmopolitan Suites (490 €), Katikies Garden (300 €) and the Aressana Spa Hotel (213 €). And away from the cliff: Istoria on Perivolos beach (360 €), the Magma Resort (295 €), the Vedema Resort (345 €) and NOŪS (300 €).
What sets Santorini apart from every other Greek island is the cave suite with its own pool, cut into the volcanic rock above the caldera. This is not a niche category here – at several of our properties it is the core product.
Magma Resort SantoriniThe Canaves Oia Suites has the fullest range, with eight categories including the Executive with Cave Pool, the Royal Pool and the Infinity Pool (from around 590 €). The Canaves Epitome adds its Hideaway Pool and Pool suites (650 €), the Canaves Ena a River Pool suite (410 €) and the Katikies Chromata in Imerovigli a Master Pool suite (360 €). The Cosmopolitan Suites in Fira lists a dedicated Cave category alongside its Grand and Honeymoon suites (490 €).Personal luxury travel adviceOur travel advisors personally accompany your booking – 365 days a year, from the first offer to late check-out. Reach the suitespot VIP service via email or WhatsApp.Phone: +49 30 81452346 · hotel@suitespot.comBeyond those, suites are the norm rather than the exception: the Katikies Pelagos House in Oia lists six categories including a Loft (460 €), the Mystique six from Vibrant to All 2 Senses (600 €), the Istoria six named after stories (360 €) and the Andronis Arcadia five including a Sunset suite (629 €).
One thing to know: there are only a handful of pool suites per property, and they go months ahead for July and August. Register your preference through our travel advisors before you book.
The most practical thing to know about Santorini is the steps. In Oia and Imerovigli almost every property is terraced down the cliff: there can be dozens of steps between reception, your room and breakfast, and there are no lifts. If that matters – for mobility, luggage or travelling with children – tell us before you book. We know which properties have level access and which categories sit at the very top.
Second, the season: Santorini is a seasonal destination. In July and August the island is full and rates peak. May, June, September and early October are clearly better – the sea is warm, the Oia paths are walkable at sunset, and the same properties cost considerably less.
Third, the programmes: Marriott Bonvoy leads with five properties, followed by the Leaders Club (3) and World of Hyatt, iPrefer and SLH Invited with one each. Nine of the twenty take part in no loyalty programme – on an island of family-run houses, that is the norm.
You can cross Santorini in under an hour, but each village has its own character – and its own relationship to the caldera.
Vora Santorini · ImerovigliThese four areas cover our portfolio.
Seven of our twenty properties: the Canaves Epitome (from around 650 €), Andronis Arcadia (629 €), Mystique (600 €, rated 4.6), Canaves Oia Suites (500 €), Katikies Pelagos House (460 €), Canaves Ena (410 €) and Domes Novos (310 €). The most expensive part of the island – and the busiest at sunset.
Between Fira and Oia, same view, fewer people: the Katikies Chromata (360 €), San Antonio (222 €), Gold Suites (273 €) and On The Rocks (199 €) – the lowest entry rate in our portfolio. For many travellers the best balance on the island.
The only area with life of its own beyond the hotels: restaurants, shops and the cable car down to the old port. The Cosmopolitan Suites (490 €), the Katikies Garden, set in a former Catholic monastery (300 €), and the Aressana Spa Hotel (213 €).
Away from the cliff, with level access and a beach: Istoria on the black sand of Perivolos (360 €), the Magma Resort at Vourvoulos (295 €), the Vedema Resort from the Luxury Collection at Megalochori (345 €), NOŪS at Mesaria (300 €) and Carpe Diem at Pyrgos, the island's highest village.
This choice matters more in Santorini than the choice of hotel.
Canaves Oia Suites Santorini · OiaThe caldera – Oia, Imerovigli and Fira – is the Santorini of the photographs: white houses stepped down the cliff, suites cut into volcanic rock, the sunset over the sea. Fourteen of our twenty properties are there. The cost: they are built on slopes, with many steps and no beach of their own; arriving with luggage takes help, and Oia's paths fill up every evening.
The flat side, east and south, is the other Santorini: black-sand beaches at Perivolos (Istoria, 360 €) and Vourvoulos (Magma Resort, 295 €), and the inland villages of Megalochori (Vedema Resort, 345 €), Mesaria (NOŪS, 300 €) and Pyrgos (Carpe Diem). Gardens, larger pools, level access – and lower rates.
Our recommendation for a first visit: combine the two. A few nights above the caldera for the view, a few nights below for the beach. Our travel advisors arrange the transfer between them – and often the second half costs noticeably less than the first.
The highest entry rate belongs to the Vora Santorini at around 900 € per night.
It is followed by the Canaves Epitome in Oia (650 €), Andronis Arcadia (629 €), Mystique (600 €) – rated 4.6, the highest in our portfolio on the island – the Canaves Oia Suites (500 €) and the Cosmopolitan Suites in Fira (490 €).
At the other end, On The Rocks in Imerovigli starts at around 199 € – and does so with a caldera view, which is the notable part. It is followed by the Aressana Spa Hotel in Fira (213 €), the Gold Suites (273 €) and San Antonio, also in Imerovigli (222 €), and the properties away from the cliff: NOŪS and the Vedema Resort (345 € each), Domes Novos and the Magma Resort (295 € each).
The practical reading: at a median of 360 € per night, Santorini is the most expensive region in our Greek portfolio – Mykonos sits at 300 €, Crete at 230 €. But the difference is not spread evenly: in Imerovigli you get the same caldera view for less than half the Oia rate.
What our travel advisors arrange most often in Santorini are sailing days across the caldera, stopping at the volcanic island of Nea Kameni and the hot springs; visits to the island's wineries, where the assyrtiko vines are woven into low baskets against the wind – a method found nowhere else; and the Minoan excavation at Akrotiri, best seen early.Personal luxury travel adviceOur travel advisors personally accompany your booking – 365 days a year, from the first offer to late check-out. Reach the suitespot VIP service via email or WhatsApp.Phone: +49 30 81452346 · hotel@suitespot.comFor orientation: from Fira and Imerovigli you reach almost everything within twenty minutes. Oia is half an hour from Fira, the southern beaches another twenty. The airport is fifteen minutes from Fira. One practical warning: the Oia sunset draws half the island every evening – if your hotel is there, you will watch it from your own terrace.
As a suitespot guest you travel with VIP status: we pass your preferences to the hotel before you arrive – in Santorini above all the suite category and the position within the property, which here decides whether you get the view and how many steps you climb. On top of that, every property includes breakfast for two, an upgrade subject to availability and up to 100 USD hotel credit.
suitespot rates are genuine direct rates: you keep earning regular points and elite nights in the hotel's loyalty program and retain your status benefits – on top of your suitespot benefits. These programs are represented in Santorini:
| Program | Hotels | Examples in Santorini |
|---|---|---|
| Marriott Bonvoy | 5 hotels | Istoria Santorini, NOŪS Santorini, Domes Novos Santorini Oia … |
| Leaders Club | 3 hotels | Katikies Garden Santorini, Katikies Santorini Pelagos House, Katikies Chromata Santorini |
| I Prefer | 1 hotel | Andronis Arcadia Santorini |
| SLH Invited | 1 hotel | Carpe Diem Santorini |
| World of Hyatt | 1 hotel | Magma Resort Santorini |
Entry rates for our 20 luxury hotels in Santorini start at around 190 € per night (On The Rocks in Imerovigli) and reach about 900 € per night at the Vora Santorini. The median entry rate is around 360 € per night.
That makes Santorini the most expensive region in our Greek portfolio – Mykonos sits at a median of 300 €, Crete at 230 €. But the gap is not spread evenly across the island: in Oia properties start between 310 and 650 €, while in Imerovigli, with the same caldera view, they start at 190 €. With suitespot you always book at direct rates, and the benefits worth more than 500 € come on top.
This is the category that defines the island, and at several of our properties it is the core product rather than a niche.
The fullest range is at the Canaves Oia Suites, with eight categories including the Executive with Cave Pool, the Royal Pool and the Infinity Pool (from around 590 €). The Canaves Epitome offers Hideaway Pool and Pool suites (650 €), the Canaves Ena a River Pool suite (410 €) and the Katikies Chromata in Imerovigli a Master Pool suite (360 €). The Cosmopolitan Suites in Fira lists a dedicated Cave category (490 €).
There are only a handful of these per property and they go months ahead for July and August – register your preference through our travel advisors before you book.
This is the decision that shapes the trip. The caldera – Oia, Imerovigli and Fira – is the Santorini of the photographs: cave suites, pools over the cliff, the sunset. Fourteen of our twenty properties are there. In exchange: many steps, no beach of your own, and crowds in Oia every evening.
The flat side gives you black-sand beaches and level access: Istoria at Perivolos (360 €), the Magma Resort at Vourvoulos (295 €), the Vedema Resort at Megalochori (345 €), NOŪS at Mesaria (300 €) and Carpe Diem at Pyrgos.
For a first visit we recommend combining both: a few nights above for the view, a few nights below for the beach. Our travel advisors arrange the transfer.
Yes. suitespot rates are full direct rates: you earn the usual points and status nights in the relevant hotel programme. In Santorini, Marriott Bonvoy leads with five properties – Mystique and the Vedema Resort (Luxury Collection), Domes Novos, Istoria and NOŪS.
Next come the Leaders Club with three (all three Katikies properties) and World of Hyatt (Magma Resort), iPrefer (Andronis Arcadia) and SLH Invited (Carpe Diem) with one each. Nine of the twenty take part in no loyalty programme – among them the three Canaves houses, which are family-run. You keep your status benefits everywhere; the suitespot benefits come in addition.
Oia in the north has the sunset and seven of our twenty properties – it is the most expensive and the busiest. Imerovigli, between Fira and Oia, has the same caldera view with far fewer people and our four best-value cliff addresses (Katikies Chromata 360 €, San Antonio 222 €, Gold Suites 273 €, On The Rocks 199 €).
Fira, the capital, is the only place with life of its own beyond the hotels – restaurants, shops and the cable car to the old port (Cosmopolitan Suites, Katikies Garden, Aressana).
If a beach matters more than the view, choose the flat side: Perivolos, Vourvoulos or the inland villages of Megalochori, Mesaria and Pyrgos. For many travellers Imerovigli is the best compromise on the island.
Santorini is a seasonal destination: properties open in late spring and close in autumn. In July and August, rates and occupancy peak and the Oia paths fill up at sunset.
The clearly better months are May, June, September and early October: the sea is warm, the caldera walk is comfortable, and the same properties cost considerably less. If your dates are flexible, this is the single most effective lever on what your stay costs.
Because properties open and close seasonally, it is worth checking before booking at either edge of the calendar – our travel advisors will confirm opening dates for your dates.
The lowest entry rate in our portfolio is On The Rocks in Imerovigli at around 199 € per night – and the notable part is that it comes with a caldera view.
Above it come the Aressana Spa Hotel in Fira (213 €), the Gold Suites (273 €) and San Antonio, also in Imerovigli (222 €), and the properties away from the cliff: NOŪS at Mesaria and the Vedema Resort at Megalochori (345 € each), Domes Novos in Oia and the Magma Resort at Vourvoulos (295 € each).
The useful conclusion: Imerovigli is where the budget goes furthest. It offers the same caldera view as Oia, often for less than half.
What we are asked to arrange most often are sailing days across the caldera, stopping at the volcanic island of Nea Kameni and the hot springs; visits to the island's wineries, where assyrtiko vines are woven into low baskets against the wind – a method found nowhere else; and the Minoan excavation at Akrotiri, best visited early in the day.
For orientation: from Fira and Imerovigli almost everything is within twenty minutes. Oia is half an hour from Fira, and the black beaches of the south – Perivolos, Perissa – another twenty. The airport is fifteen minutes from Fira.
One note: the Oia sunset draws half the island every evening. If your hotel is in Oia you will see it from your own terrace; if not, allow plenty of time to get there.
