The Shangri-La Boracay Resort carries an upgrade at booking subject to availability – according to our data for family rooms, suites and villas. That entry is carried by 56 of our 4,856 properties.
The Peninsula Manila carries an upgrade fixed at booking and already reflected in the price – an entry that exists only 26 times.
The difference is practical: with three of these four forms you know before you travel which category you will arrive in. With the most common one you only know on the day.
Early check-in also comes in two forms. Thirteen properties carry it as the usual benefit; the Peninsula Manila carries it under its own name, Peninsula Time – an entry held by only 13 of 4,856 properties in our entire inventory. It is included everywhere, then, just not recorded the same way everywhere.

The Peninsula Manila (from around 134 €) belongs to no programme and is the outlier of the selection: it carries no hotel credit and no complimentary internet – but a complimentary lunch or dinner for two (48 of 4,856 properties), the upgrade already in the price and early check-in as Peninsula Time. The Anya Resort Tagaytay (from around 183 €) belongs to no programme, carries a 50 USD credit and internet – and with four categories, all four suites, it is the only property in the country made up entirely of suites. Sizes: 47 to 128 m².
The Shangri-La's Mactan Resort Cebu in Lapu-Lapu City (from around 167 €) belongs to the Shangri-La Golden Circle and carries a 100 USD credit, points, a welcome gift, internet and expressly no minimum stay. Sizes: 34 to 136 m².
The Amanpulo on Pamalican – from around 1,305 €
The Amanpulo on Pamalican in the Cuyo archipelago is the dearest property in the selection and starts at four times the next dearest. It belongs to no loyalty programme.
Its package is as unusual as its price – and almost every benefit carries a condition, which we name because the data states it expressly:

Unlike at some other destinations, location genuinely separates here. The ten properties in Metro Manila start between around 74 € and around 320 €, with a median entry of about 153 €. The four outside start between around 167 € and around 1,305 €.
The solid statement from that: six of the ten Manila properties start below 167 € – and 167 € is the cheapest entry outside the capital region. If you are planning on a budget, the choice sits in Metro Manila.
What is also notable is how little the price says about the package. Nine of the 14 carry a 100 USD credit – from the Admiral Hotel Manila at around 74 € to the Shangri-La Boracay at around 327 €. The amount does not change; the price more than quadruples.

Programmes and credits
Eleven of our 14 properties belong to a loyalty programme – and one of them stands out.
The Shangri-La Golden Circle alone accounts for five properties: the Shangri-La's Mactan Resort Cebu, the Shangri-La Boracay Resort, the Shangri-La at the Fort Manila, the Edsa Shangri-La Manila and the Makati Shangri-La Manila. No other group is represented that strongly at any destination in our selection.
Added to those are ALL (Accor) with three properties (Admiral Hotel Manila, Fairmont Makati, Raffles Makati), and Fans of Mandarin Oriental, Hilton Honors (Conrad Manila) and World of Hyatt (Grand Hyatt Manila) with one each.
Three properties belong to no programme: the Amanpulo, the Anya Resort Tagaytay and the Peninsula Manila.
For you that means something practical: if you collect in the Golden Circle, you can choose between city, beach and island in the Philippines without switching programme.

Where the records are solid: the Amanpulo holds nine suites among twelve categories – the most in the country. Then the Shangri-La Boracay Resort with eight and the Grand Hyatt Manila with five.
One small property stands out: the Anya Resort Tagaytay holds four categories – and all four are suites. It is the only property in the country where that is so.

For four properties we give no sizes. For the Raffles Makati, the Fairmont Makati and the Admiral Hotel Manila we hold a figure for no category at all. And at the Shangri-La Boracay Resort the maximum value recorded is plainly impossible for an accommodation – we would rather give no figure than a wrong one.
On the minimum stay the picture is mixed, and we say for each property what holds. At the Admiral Hotel Manila both sources name two nights – we state that without qualification. At the Grand Hyatt Manila only the booking field reads two nights, at the Anya Resort Tagaytay only the benefit list; there we claim no number. The Mandarin Oriental, the Shangri-La's Mactan Resort and the Conrad Manila expressly carry no minimum stay. For all the others we confirm the actual condition before you book.
