Your guide to the best luxury hotels in Indonesia

Our selection in Indonesia covers 72 properties in the 5-star category across 15 destinations39 of them on Bali alone.Conrad BaliConrad Bali · Nusa DuaEvery hotel booking through suitespot includes:
  • Breakfast for two – at 70 of the 71 hotels
  • Room upgrade – at 69 of the 71
  • Late check-out at 69
  • Hotel credit at 53 of the 72 entries

An entry rate is on file for every single one of the 72 properties – which is far from true of all our destinations.

Entry level sits at around €44 at Yogyakarta Phoenix. At the top the range leaves room-rate logic behind: Uluwatu Estate Bali is listed at around €6,510, which is a whole-property rate. A typical rate in Indonesia is about €201.

Fourteen points programmes across 72 properties

60 of our 72 properties in Indonesia belong to a points programme, twelve do not. What stands out is not the share but the variety: those 60 properties spread across fourteen different programmes.Raffles BaliRaffles BaliOnly two form larger blocks: Marriott Bonvoy with 21 properties and World of Hyatt with 11. Then follow ALL (Accor) with 7, IHG One Rewards with 5 and the Leaders Club with 4.Personal luxury travel adviceOur travel advisors personally accompany your booking – 365 days a year, from the first offer to late check-out. On top come Hilton Honors, GHA Discovery and Fans of Mandarin Oriental with two each.

In practice: if you collect a particular programme, Indonesia often holds exactly one matching property – and booking early pays off.

The upgrade is worth a careful look: the eleven World of Hyatt properties record it already at the time of booking rather than on arrival.

A points credit is on file at 53 properties, fewer than the 60 with a programme.

suitespot rates are full direct rates: the benefits come on top of the regular rate.

What a night costs

An entry rate is on file for every one of the 72 properties. The 71 hotels run from around 44 € to around 1,516 €, with the mid-point at around 200 €.

A strong top end for a small country

Six hotels start at 1,000 € or more: the Buahan Banyan Tree Bali (around 1,516 €), the Soori Bali (around 1,222 €), the Amanjiwo (around 1,107 €), the Nihi Sumba Island (around 1,082 €), the Amankila (around 1,069 €) and the Raffles Bali (around 1,051 €).Mandapa, a Ritz-Carlton ReserveMandapa, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve · UbudFor comparison: in China only two of 244 priced properties start in four figures. Indonesia, with just 71 hotels, has three times as many.

And a broad lower field

Six hotels start below 100 €, 25 below 150 € and 36 of the 71 below 200 € – a good half.

The most affordable are the Yogyakarta Phoenix (around 44 €), the Alila Solo Hotel (around 65 €), the Gran Meliá Jakarta (around 77 €) and the JW Marriott Hotel Surabaya (around 81 €).

One entry is not a hotel

The Uluwatu Estate Bali starts at around 6,510 € – that is the rate for an entire property, not for a room. It is the country's only private property and carries, instead of breakfast and upgrade, a package of its own: a 500 € concierge credit per stay, a private pool, a property manager and a chef service on request.

Without that entry, Indonesia ends at around 1,516 €.

Bali holds more than half

Our 72 properties are spread across 15 destinations – but the distribution is lopsided. The Ritz-Carlton BaliThe Ritz-Carlton Bali · Nusa DuaBali holds 39 of the 72, clearly more than half. Within Bali we additionally run separate overviews for Kabupaten Gianyar (10 properties), Kuta (7) and Jimbaran (5); those properties are already counted in the 39.

The second largest destination is Jakarta with 15 properties – the capital holds a good fifth.

The rest is thinly spread: the Riau Islands with 3 properties, plus single destinations from Java through Lombok to Sumba.

Where the most expensive properties stand is telling: of the six hotels from 1,000 € upwards, three are on Bali, the others on Java (the Amanjiwo), on Sumba (the Nihi Sumba Island) and on Bali's east coast (the Amankila).

What every booking holds – and the exceptions

Breakfast for two is on file at 70 of the 71 hotels. The only hotel without it is the Radisson Blu Resort Bali Uluwatu.

A room upgrade applies at 69 of the 71. It is missing at the Paradisus Bali and the Gran Meliá Jakarta.

A late check-out is recorded at 69 properties, a hotel credit at 53, free internet at 55 and a welcome gift at 48.

On the minimum stay, 37 properties expressly carry none and eight ask for two nights. For the rest nothing is recorded; we confirm the condition for your travel dates.

One benefit is absent entirely: for no property in Indonesia do we hold an all-inclusive board arrangement on file. Where a property offers board packages, we clarify them for your travel dates.

The private property, the Uluwatu Estate Bali, carries neither breakfast nor upgrade but its own package.

More suites than rooms

Our room data holds 1,299 categories for Indonesia. 514 of them are expressly listed as suites, 309 as rooms and 476 carry no type at all.Personal luxury travel adviceOur travel advisors personally accompany your booking – 365 days a year, from the first offer to late check-out. Reach the suitespot VIP service via email or WhatsApp.Phone: +49 30 81452346 · hotel@suitespot.comAsk via WhatsAppWrite an emailSuites thus clearly outnumber rooms – a ratio found more often at resort destinations than in cities. In China it is exactly the other way round: 965 suites against 1,618 rooms.

The 514 are still the lower bound: more than every third category carries no type, and there are certainly further suites among them.

For individual properties we are happy to clarify categories, sizes and facilities for your travel dates.
