Six countries carry the Asian portfolio: China with 251 properties, the United Arab Emirates with 129, Thailand with 124, Japan with 112, Indonesia with 72 and India with 65.Rixos Premium Saadiyat Island · Abu DhabiTwo very different patterns sit behind those numbers. The Emirates concentrate their 129 properties across just three destinations – the densest concentration anywhere in our portfolio. Thailand spreads almost the same number (124) over 19 destinations, from Bangkok to Phuket and Koh Samui. If you want a city, the Emirates and China offer the widest choice in the smallest area; if you are planning a route, Thailand, Indonesia and India.

The cheapest entry sits at around €44 per night, the median across our Asian portfolio at about €207 – the lowest of any continent. The most affordable countries are Vietnam (median €148), the United Arab Emirates (€150) and Macau (€155). At the top end sit Laos (€1,036), the Maldives (€798) and Bhutan (€697) – three destinations where we work almost exclusively with lodges and resorts rather than city hotels.Mandarin Oriental SingaporeFour entries deliberately sit outside that calculation, because they are whole-property rates: Tatvani in Chiang Rai (around €6,764), Uluwatu Estate in Bali (€6,510), Cheval Blanc Randheli in the Maldives (€2,930) and Villa Amarisa in Phuket (€2,700). A further 24 of the 1,168 properties carry no published price with us and are quoted on request.

Asia rewards planning in that order in particular: prices can triple between two neighbouring countries, and the destination count per country tells you whether a touring route makes sense at all.
