Your guide to the best luxury hotels on Aruba

On Aruba you are not choosing a location. Four of our five properties stand on one single beach – Palm Beach, in the north of the island – and they stand so close together that the question “which beach?” never really arises: 200 metres separate the Ritz-Carlton from the Aruba Marriott Resort, and the two furthest apart on Palm Beach are all of 2.1 kilometres from one another. The Ritz-Carlton ArubaThe Ritz-Carlton Aruba · NoordOnly the Renaissance Wind Creek sits away from the strip, some five to seven kilometres south towards the capital, Oranjestad. It is the only one of the five that is not on the hotel strip.

Entry rates run from 391 € to 621 € per night, with a median of 500 € – a factor of 1.59 between the cheapest and the dearest. For a Caribbean destination that is a narrow span.

Because location will not decide for you, the decision moves to two other questions: which hotel programme you use – and which benefits actually apply at each property. Both come out unusually clearly here.

Palm Beach – four properties, one beach

From north to south, Palm Beach holds the Ritz-Carlton Aruba (605 €), the Aruba Marriott Resort (500 €) immediately beside it, the Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort (494 €) and the St. Regis Aruba Resort (621 €). All four sit on the same continuous stretch of sand; the greatest distance between any two of them is 2.1 kilometres, the shortest 200 metres.Renaissance Wind Creek ArubaRenaissance Wind Creek Aruba · OranjestadIn practice you can walk from one to the next, and none of the four holds a location advantage over the others that could seriously be argued. Choosing by beach on Aruba means choosing between four properties on the same one.

The property that is not on the strip

The Renaissance Wind Creek Aruba (391 €) stands in Socotoro, five to seven kilometres south of the other four and therefore close to Oranjestad, the capital. It is also the lowest entry rate in our selection.Personal luxury travel adviceOur travel advisors personally accompany your booking – 365 days a year, from the first offer to late check-out. If you are planning a beach stay in the narrower sense, it is the four on Palm Beach.

The five properties in detail

Four of the five belong to Marriott Bonvoy – a concentration we rarely see at this scale. Only the Hyatt Regency belongs to World of Hyatt. If you hold Marriott status, you can put it to work at four of the five properties on the island.Aruba Marriott ResortAruba Marriott Resort · NoordSorted by entry rate, from the top down.

The St. Regis Aruba Resort – 621 €

The island's highest entry rate, on Palm Beach. Marriott Bonvoy. The entry category is the Deluxe Ocean View Room. The hotel credit of up to 100 USD applies here – which, as you will see in a moment, is not a given.

The Ritz-Carlton Aruba – 605 €

200 metres from the Aruba Marriott Resort, also on Palm Beach and also Marriott Bonvoy. The entry category is the Club Ocean View Room. It is the only one of the five whose breakfast is listed explicitly as a buffet breakfast, and the hotel credit applies here too.

Aruba Marriott Resort – 500 €

Immediately next to the Ritz-Carlton, Marriott Bonvoy, entry category Premium Queen Ocean View Room. At 500 € it sits exactly on the island's median.

One point that costs real money: the Aruba Marriott Resort is one of two properties in the selection without the hotel credit of up to 100 USD.

Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort – 494 €

The only property on the island outside Marriott Bonvoy – it belongs to World of Hyatt. The entry category is the Grand King Garden View Room, the only entry category of the five without a sea view.

Its upgrade differs too: instead of an upgrade on arrival, the Hyatt carries one at booking, explicitly not from room to suite. The hotel credit of up to 100 USD applies here.

Renaissance Wind Creek Aruba – 391 €

The island's lowest entry rate and the only property away from Palm Beach, in Socotoro near Oranjestad. Marriott Bonvoy, entry category King Ocean View Room.

It is the second of the two properties without the hotel credit of up to 100 USD. We also feature it on a separate page for Oranjestad – there it is the only property; here it stands in the context of the whole island.

What a luxury hotel on Aruba costs

Entry rates across our five properties run from 391 € per night (Renaissance Wind Creek) to 621 € per night (St. Regis). The median entry rate is 500 €.Hyatt Regency Aruba ResortHyatt Regency Aruba Resort · NoordWithin the Caribbean that places Aruba in the upper middle: above Paradise Island (470 €), Nassau (348 €), Punta Cana (332 €) and Grand Cayman (321 €), below Providenciales (700 €) – and a long way below the region's two peaks, St Barth (1,998 €) and Antigua (1,658 €).

Benefits, programmes and where they differ

Breakfast for two, late check-out, wifi, points and the welcome gift apply at all five properties. Below that it becomes uneven, and at these rates that is worth a paragraph:

The hotel credit of up to 100 USD applies at three of five – the St. Regis, the Ritz-Carlton and the Hyatt Regency. The Aruba Marriott Resort and the Renaissance Wind Creek do not carry it. The room upgrade on arrival applies at four of five; the Hyatt Regency carries an upgrade at booking instead, explicitly not from room to suite.

With every booking through suitespot you receive a comprehensive package of suitespot benefits:

  • Complimentary breakfast for two
  • Room upgrade subject to availability
  • Up to 100 USD hotel credit per stay
  • Early check-in and late check-out subject to availability
  • Standard points and status benefits in the hotel programmes

Which property suits whom

Because four of the five stand on the same beach, programme and benefits decide. If you hold Marriott Bonvoy status, you can use it at four of five properties – the rare case where one status covers practically an entire island. If your home is World of Hyatt, you have exactly one address: the Hyatt Regency.Personal luxury travel adviceOur travel advisors personally accompany your booking – 365 days a year, from the first offer to late check-out. And if you want the island rather than only the beach: the Renaissance Wind Creek is the only property off the hotel strip, sits closer to Oranjestad and is at the same time the lowest entry rate. The price for that is the missing hotel credit – against a gap of roughly 115 € to the island median, an arithmetic everyone should do for themselves.

Frequently asked questions about luxury hotels in Aruba

What does a luxury hotel on Aruba cost?

Entry rates across our five properties run between 391 € per night (Renaissance Wind Creek) and 621 € per night (St. Regis). The median is 500 €.

A factor of 1.59 separates the cheapest from the dearest – for a Caribbean destination, a narrow span.

Are all the hotels on the same beach?

Four of five, yes. The St. Regis, Ritz-Carlton, Aruba Marriott Resort and Hyatt Regency all stand on Palm Beach in the north of the island. 200 metres separate the Ritz-Carlton from the Aruba Marriott, and 2.1 kilometres the two furthest apart.

Only the Renaissance Wind Creek sits away from them, five to seven kilometres south in Socotoro, closer to Oranjestad.

Do I get the 100 USD hotel credit at every property?

No – and that is the most important difference between the five. The hotel credit of up to 100 USD applies at three of five: the St. Regis, the Ritz-Carlton and the Hyatt Regency.

The Aruba Marriott Resort and the Renaissance Wind Creek do not carry it. Breakfast for two and late check-out, by contrast, apply at all five.

Can I use my hotel status on Aruba?

Unusually well, if it is with Marriott: four of the five properties belong to Marriott Bonvoy – St. Regis, Ritz-Carlton, Aruba Marriott Resort and Renaissance Wind Creek.

Only the Hyatt Regency Aruba Resort belongs to World of Hyatt. You book through suitespot at direct rates, so you earn as you would on a direct booking and your status benefits apply.

Which hotel is the most affordable?

The Renaissance Wind Creek Aruba at around 391 € per night. It is also the only property away from Palm Beach – it stands in Socotoro, closer to Oranjestad.

Note that it does not carry the hotel credit of up to 100 USD. The gap to the island median is roughly 115 €.

Which room categories do you list as the entry level?

Deluxe Ocean View Room at the St. Regis, Club Ocean View Room at the Ritz-Carlton, Premium Queen Ocean View Room at the Aruba Marriott Resort, King Ocean View Room at the Renaissance Wind Creek and Grand King Garden View Room at the Hyatt Regency.

Four of the five entry categories therefore have a sea view; the Hyatt Regency is the only one whose entry level looks onto the garden.

Do you also feature hotels in Oranjestad?

We do run a separate page for Oranjestad – but it holds exactly one property, and it is the same one you find here: the Renaissance Wind Creek Aruba.

This country page is therefore the fuller overview: it shows all five properties on the island in one place.

How does Aruba compare within the Caribbean?

With a median of 500 €, Aruba sits in the upper middle: above Paradise Island (470 €), Nassau (348 €), Punta Cana (332 €) and Grand Cayman (321 €), but below Providenciales (700 €).

Clearly above it stand only the region's two peaks: St Barth at 1,998 € and Antigua at 1,658 €.
