The Daytona · One DaytonaFor this guide we reviewed the best hotels in Daytona Beach and picked one: a single luxury hotel – and at this one a different calendar decides than the one you expect. Our choice for Daytona Beach is The Daytona at One Daytona, the site across from the speedway. It sits at 4.1 out of 5 in our ranking, carries Marriott Bonvoy, and a night starts at 155 euros.
Personal luxury travel adviceOur travel advisors personally accompany your booking – 365 days a year, from the first offer to late check-out. Reach the suitespot VIP service via email or WhatsApp.Phone: +49 30 81452346 · hotel@suitespot.comThose 155 euros are only half the information, though. The other half is in the race calendar.
Why we recommend it: Because it is the hotel that stands literally across from the Daytona International Speedway – 950 metres from the track by our coordinates, in the middle of ONE DAYTONA on Victory Circle. Its 144 rooms have balconies looking onto exactly that square; the Blue Flame restaurant and bar has a terrace and a rooftop view of the track; and the heated outdoor pool with cabanas makes the hotel a resort rather than a utility hotel outside race weeks too. It belongs to the Autograph Collection, the individually run hotels under the Marriott roof – your Bonvoy status keeps running alongside our benefits.
In Daytona Beach the season does not decide – the race calendar does.
The hotel stands on the site across from the speedway. In a town where we carry exactly one hotel, that means: for a few weeks a year the whole city is booked out, and in between the same city is quiet.
Those weeks are:
• January – the 24-hour race.
• February – the Daytona 500, the NASCAR season opener and the high point of the year.
• early March – Bike Week, ten days of motorcycle rally with hundreds of thousands of visitors.
• August – the night race on the same oval.
• October – Biketoberfest, Bike Week’s smaller sister.
What that means in practice:
• Give us your date first, not your category. If it falls in one of those windows, availability is the only question that counts – and it wants asking months ahead.
• If you want to see one of these events, the location is the real advantage. From the site across the road you walk to the grandstand while the rest of the city sits in traffic.
• If you do not, there are ten quiet months in between. Then you have a beach you are allowed to drive on largely to yourself.
Our advice: tell us the date before you ask anything else. Here it answers everything that follows – price, availability, and whether you are coming at the right time at all.
The Daytona stands at One Daytona, a site of shops, cinemas and restaurants laid out across from the Daytona International Speedway. That is worth knowing, because the town’s name promises something else: the beach is a few minutes away by car, not a few steps on foot.
Our recommendation is therefore for anyone coming for the speedway – and for anyone looking for a quiet, well-connected base on Florida’s east coast who takes the beach as a day trip.
What is within reach: the speedway itself, which can be toured around the oval outside race weeks; the beach with its boardwalk and old Ferris wheel; and the Ponce de León Inlet lighthouse a little to the south, at 53 metres the tallest in Florida – 203 steps, and from the top you see the coast in both directions.
For orientation: Daytona Beach International airport lies immediately next to the speedway, so a few minutes away. Allow a good hour by car to Orlando, and about the same north to St. Augustine, the oldest continuously inhabited city in the United States.
The Daytona carries six categories, two of them suites – a short, manageable list.
Two of the six categories measure 32 to 41 and 50 to 53 square metres. Our travel advisors confirm the size of the other four before you book. If size matters to you, that is the first question for our travel advisors.
At the top sit two executive suites, below them four rooms. That is the whole grading – and with six categories it can be settled in one message.
On the outlook, our travel advisors tell you which way the rooms face. Ask our travel advisors about the outlook before you commit.
What applies to every category alike: breakfast for two people, the upgrade on arrival subject to availability, and a welcome gift.
A night at the luxury hotel in Daytona Beach starts at 155 euros.
Six benefits are included, and all apply from the first night: breakfast for two people, an upgrade on arrival subject to availability, regular points and status benefits with Marriott Bonvoy, early check-in and late check-out subject to availability and a welcome gift.
When it is most pleasant: from October to April. The humidity is gone, the evenings are mild, and you can walk the beach for hours.
When the city is its own event: in January, February, early March, August and October. Those are the race and motorcycle weeks – if you want to experience them, ask months ahead, because the town is booked out and the hotel across from the track is the best base there is.
When the water is warmest: from June to September. The Atlantic is over twenty-eight degrees, and the storms come in the late afternoon and pass through quickly.
When to enquire early: for every one of those event weeks – and for late summer, because in the hurricane season from June to November flexibility is worth more than the best rate. Ask us about rates with room to rebook in that window.
How long to stay: two nights as a stopover – or four if you want a whole race weekend.
And whatever the date: you get the suitespot benefits in the quietest week of the year just as you do in the busiest.
Daytona Beach is a place where driving never stopped being cultural. The beach was the first race track, and when the cars became too fast, an oval with thirty-one degrees of banking was built for them.
Personal luxury travel adviceOur travel advisors personally accompany your booking – 365 days a year, from the first offer to late check-out. Reach the suitespot VIP service via email or WhatsApp.Phone: +49 30 81452346 · hotel@suitespot.comThree things belong to it. First the speedway: outside race weeks a minibus takes you around the oval and you stand once at the bottom of a curve whose steepness you would not believe from photographs. Second the beach: 37 kilometres, packed hard enough that on stretches you may drive on it – one of the last places in the United States where that is allowed. Third the Ponce de León Inlet lighthouse of 1887: 53 metres, red brick, 203 steps, and a view from the top that justifies the climb.
What our travel advisors arrange most often: the speedway tour – not bookable on race days and almost always available in between – and the hire car, because track, beach and lighthouse each lie a few kilometres apart.
The benefits of this hotel apply whatever your standing with Marriott Bonvoy: the points and status benefits come on top.
The properties in Daytona Beach share a single loyalty program. Your booking counts within it as usual – a direct rate with points, elite nights and your status benefits, plus what suitespot adds. The most widely represented is Marriott Bonvoy.
At no extra cost: you pay the same rate as booking direct with the hotel – the suitespot benefits come on top, free of charge.
