Your guide to the best luxury hotels in Palm Beach and West Palm Beach

One thing decides a Palm Beach booking more than any other, and a listing page hides it: only two of our five properties are actually in Palm Beach. The other three stand in three separate municipalities along the same stretch of coast – Manalapan, West Palm Beach and Riviera Beach. We currently list five hand-picked luxury hotels in and around Palm Beach, from The Breakers and The Vineta to the Amrit Ocean Resort. Entry rates run from around 340 € to 834 € per night, with a median of about 530 €.Eau Palm Beach ResortEau Palm Beach ResortWith every booking through suitespot you receive a comprehensive package of suitespot benefits:
  • Complimentary breakfast for two
  • Room upgrade subject to availability
  • Up to 100 USD hotel credit per stay
  • Early check-in and late check-out subject to availability
  • Standard points and status benefits in the hotel programmes

In Palm Beach itself stand two houses. The Breakers Palm Beach at One South County Road (from around 670 €) has by far the widest room choice, listing Classic, Signature, Imperial, Deluxe, Premium, Atlantic, Premium Atlantic and Royal Poinciana suites. A few streets inland, still on the island, The Vineta Hotel (834 €) carries the highest entry rate in our selection – a smaller house with Superior, Deluxe, Signature, Prestige, Luxury and Presidential categories, and the one island address whose rooms look over the town and its courtyards rather than the water.

South of it, in Manalapan, sits the Eau Palm Beach Resort on South Ocean Boulevard (520 €), part of iPrefer, with Ocean Front, Ocean Front Lanai Terrace and Club suites.

On the mainland, in West Palm Beach, stands The Ben on North Narcissus Avenue (350 €), part of Marriott Bonvoy, with a Crusoe suite – the only address we list in West Palm Beach, and the answer if that is what you were searching for.

North, in Riviera Beach, the Amrit Ocean Resort on North Ocean Drive (340 €) is the entry point, also iPrefer, with a Luxury suite category.

Palm Beach or West Palm Beach? They are two different cities

This is the most consequential misunderstanding when booking here, and it is not a nuance – the two are separated by the Intracoastal Waterway and connected by bridges. The Breakers Palm BeachThe Breakers Palm BeachPalm Beach is the barrier island: the ocean, the estates and Worth Avenue. Our two addresses there are The Breakers Palm Beach at One South County Road, from around 670 €, and The Vineta Hotel at 834 €, a few streets inland. West Palm Beach is the mainland city across the water, with the downtown, the restaurants and the airport. Our single address there is The Ben on North Narcissus Avenue, at 350 € – roughly half the rate for a stay that is a bridge away from the island.Personal luxury travel adviceOur travel advisors personally accompany your booking – 365 days a year, from the first offer to late check-out. Reach the suitespot VIP service via email or WhatsApp.Phone: +49 30 81452346 · hotel@suitespot.comAsk via WhatsAppWrite an emailTwo further properties are in neither. The Eau Palm Beach Resort (520 €) stands in Manalapan, a separate town south along the same barrier island, and the Amrit Ocean Resort (340 €) in Riviera Beach to the north. Both are on the ocean; neither is in Palm Beach, and we would rather say so before you book than let a name imply it.

The practical rule is simple. If Worth Avenue and the island are the point of the trip, that is one address. If you want the ocean at a lower rate, it is Manalapan or Riviera Beach. If you want the downtown and the airport, it is West Palm Beach.

Our travel advisors' insider tip

The most useful thing to know here is that the season swing is unusually violent. Palm Beach is a winter destination in the strict sense: December to April is the season, rates are at their highest and our five properties can be full at once. May and November are the value windows with the ocean still warm. June to September is hot, humid and within the hurricane season, and rates are at their lowest for that reason.

Second: the five addresses are spread over a considerable stretch of coast, from Manalapan in the south to Riviera Beach in the north. Plan on a car. The distances look small on a map and take longer than expected, because the bridges are the only crossings.

On the programmes: iPrefer covers two of the five (Eau Palm Beach and Amrit), Marriott Bonvoy one (The Ben). The Breakers and The Vineta take part in no loyalty programme, which is worth knowing if points or status nights matter for this trip.

The five properties by municipality: where you will actually be

Five hotels, four separate municipalities – so the choice of address here really is a choice of destination. Palm Beach itself carries two of them; the other three municipalities have one each. The Vineta Hotel Palm BeachThe Vineta Hotel Palm Beach · IslandHere they are, from south to north.

Manalapan – Eau Palm Beach Resort

On South Ocean Boulevard, south of Palm Beach on the same barrier island, from around 520 €. Part of iPrefer, with Ocean Front, Ocean Front Lanai Terrace and Club suites. Directly on the ocean and the quietest of our five addresses.

Palm Beach – The Breakers Palm Beach

At One South County Road, from 670 €. Eight suite categories, from Classic and Signature to Atlantic, Premium Atlantic and Royal Poinciana. It takes part in no loyalty programme.

Palm Beach – The Vineta Hotel

The second address on the island and the highest entry rate in our selection, at 834 €. It stands a few streets back from the beach rather than on it – its categories run Superior, Deluxe, Signature, Prestige, Luxury and Presidential, and look over the town and its courtyards rather than the water. Like The Breakers, it takes part in no loyalty programme.

West Palm Beach – The Ben

On North Narcissus Avenue on the mainland, at 350 € and part of Marriott Bonvoy, with a Crusoe suite. The only West Palm Beach address in our selection: downtown, walkable in the evening and the closest to the airport – across a bridge from the island rather than on it.

Riviera Beach – Amrit Ocean Resort

On North Ocean Drive, north of Palm Beach, at 340 € – the lowest entry rate of the five. Part of iPrefer, with a Luxury suite category, and on the ocean.

What that means for the drive

From Manalapan in the south to Riviera Beach in the north is a real distance, and the Intracoastal is crossed only at the bridges. If your days involve Worth Avenue, plan around that – and plan on a car whichever of the five you choose.

Luxury hotels in West Palm Beach: one address, and what it gives you

West Palm Beach is searched for as often as Palm Beach itself, so it deserves a straight answer: we list one property there, The Ben on North Narcissus Avenue, at an entry rate of around 350 €.The Ben West Palm BeachThe Ben West Palm BeachWhat that address gives you is the mainland city rather than the island: the downtown restaurants and bars within walking distance, the shortest transfer from the airport of any of our five properties, and a Marriott Bonvoy membership – the only Bonvoy option in our Palm Beach selection. It lists a Crusoe suite category.

What it does not give you is the ocean at the door. For that, the alternatives at a comparable rate are the Amrit Ocean Resort in Riviera Beach (340 €) to the north and, a step up, the Eau Palm Beach Resort in Manalapan (520 €) to the south. Both are on the water; neither is walkable to a downtown.

That is the whole trade in this destination, and it is worth making deliberately: the mainland buys you evenings on foot, the barrier island buys you the ocean. Tell our travel advisors which of the two your trip is built around.

What a night in Palm Beach costs

Entry rates in our selection start at 340 € at the Amrit Ocean Resort in Riviera Beach, run through 350 € at The Ben in West Palm Beach and 520 € at the Eau Palm Beach Resort in Manalapan, and reach 670 € at The Breakers and 834 € at The Vineta, both in Palm Beach itself. The median is about 530 €.

Read alongside the addresses, those five numbers describe the market precisely: the island carries a premium of roughly 150 € a night over the ocean immediately north and south of it, and roughly double over the mainland. That is what the postcode costs here, and it is unusually easy to see: the three mainland-and-outlying municipalities have one property each, while the island itself carries the two most expensive houses in the selection.

The other thing the rates hide is room choice. The Breakers lists eight suite categories against six at The Vineta, three at the Eau and one each at The Ben and the Amrit – so at the top of this market you are buying range as well as the address. With suitespot the benefits worth more than 500 € apply at all five, which closes part of that gap on a longer stay.

Ocean days, Worth Avenue and exclusive services

What our travel advisors arrange most often here are restaurant tables in the winter weeks, when the island books out well ahead, boat and golf days, and transfers – which matter more than usual in this destination, because the five addresses are spread across four municipalities and the Intracoastal is crossed only at the bridges.Personal luxury travel adviceOur travel advisors personally accompany your booking – 365 days a year, from the first offer to late check-out. Reach the suitespot VIP service via email or WhatsApp.Phone: +49 30 81452346 · hotel@suitespot.comAsk via WhatsAppWrite an emailFor orientation: The Ben in West Palm Beach is the closest of the five to the airport and the only one from which the evening can be done on foot. The Breakers and The Vineta put you on the island. The Eau Palm Beach Resort and the Amrit Ocean Resort are the quiet ocean options south and north.

As a suitespot guest you travel with VIP status at all five properties: we pass your preferences to the hotel before you arrive – here almost always an ocean-facing room, which at three of the five is a category of its own. On top of that come breakfast for two, a room upgrade subject to availability, early check-in and late check-out subject to availability and up to 100 USD hotel credit per stay. Points come with iPrefer at the Eau and the Amrit and with Marriott Bonvoy at The Ben; The Breakers and The Vineta take part in no programme, so there the suitespot benefits are the whole of the advantage.

Frequently asked questions about luxury hotels in Palm Beach

How much does a luxury hotel in Palm Beach cost?

Entry rates in our Palm Beach selection start at around 340 € per night at the Amrit Ocean Resort in Riviera Beach and reach about 834 € at The Vineta in Palm Beach itself. In between sit The Ben in West Palm Beach (350 €), the Eau Palm Beach Resort in Manalapan (520 €) and The Breakers on the island (670 €). The median is roughly 530 €.

Those five numbers describe the market almost exactly, because the island carries the two most expensive houses and each of the other municipalities has one property in our list: the island carries a premium of around 150 € a night over the ocean north and south of it, and roughly double over the mainland.

With suitespot you always book at direct rates, and the benefits worth more than 500 € come on top.

Are all of these hotels actually in Palm Beach?

No, and it is the most useful thing to know before booking here. Only two of our five properties are in Palm Beach itself: The Breakers at One South County Road and The Vineta Hotel, a few streets inland.

The other three stand in three separate municipalities. The Eau Palm Beach Resort is in Manalapan, south along the same barrier island. The Ben is in West Palm Beach, the mainland city across the Intracoastal. The Amrit Ocean Resort is in Riviera Beach to the north.

All five are on or near the ocean and all five are marketed as Palm Beach, which is why we prefer to state it plainly. If Worth Avenue and the island are the point of the trip, two addresses do that.

Which luxury hotels are in West Palm Beach?

One, in our selection: The Ben on North Narcissus Avenue, at an entry rate of around 350 € per night. It belongs to Marriott Bonvoy – the only Bonvoy property in our Palm Beach selection – and lists a Crusoe suite category.

West Palm Beach is the mainland city across the Intracoastal from the island: downtown restaurants within walking distance, the shortest transfer from the airport of our five addresses, and roughly half the rate of The Breakers across the water.

What it does not offer is the ocean at the door. If that is what you want at a similar rate, the Amrit Ocean Resort in Riviera Beach (340 €) is the alternative.

Which Palm Beach hotel has the best suites?

The Breakers Palm Beach by a clear margin, with eight suite categories: Classic, Signature, Imperial, Deluxe, Premium, Atlantic, Premium Atlantic and Royal Poinciana, from around 670 €. The Vineta Hotel, the other island address and the highest entry rate in our selection at 834 €, lists six – Superior, Deluxe, Signature, Prestige, Luxury and Presidential.

The Eau Palm Beach Resort in Manalapan lists three – Ocean Front, Ocean Front Lanai Terrace and Club – from 520 €. The Ben in West Palm Beach records a Crusoe suite and the Amrit Ocean Resort a Luxury category.

So at the top of this market you are buying room choice as well as the address – which is worth weighing if a suite rather than a room is the plan.

Do I earn points and can I use my status with suitespot?

Yes, wherever a programme exists. suitespot rates are full direct rates, so you earn the usual points and status nights.

In our Palm Beach selection, iPrefer covers two properties – the Eau Palm Beach Resort in Manalapan and the Amrit Ocean Resort in Riviera Beach – and Marriott Bonvoy covers The Ben in West Palm Beach.

The Breakers Palm Beach and The Vineta Hotel take part in no loyalty programme, so no points or status nights are earned there. Their suitespot benefits are identical to everywhere else: breakfast for two, upgrade subject to availability and up to 100 USD hotel credit per stay.

Which Palm Beach hotels are directly on the ocean?

Three of the five. The Eau Palm Beach Resort on South Ocean Boulevard in Manalapan (520 €), The Breakers on the barrier island at One South County Road (670 €) and the Amrit Ocean Resort on North Ocean Drive in Riviera Beach (340 €) are all on the water, and an ocean-facing room is a category of its own at each.

Two are not. The Ben stands in the mainland downtown, across the Intracoastal from the island, and The Vineta a few streets back from the beach on the island itself – its rooms look over the town and its courtyards rather than the water.

If the ocean is the point, the least expensive way to it in our selection is the Amrit at 340 € – within ten euros of the mainland property.

When is the best time to visit Palm Beach?

Palm Beach is a winter destination in the strict sense. December to April is the season: dry, warm and at peak rates, and with only five properties in this class our whole selection can be full at once.

May and November are the value windows – the ocean is still warm and the coast is markedly quieter.

June to September is hot and humid and falls within the Atlantic hurricane season, which is why rates are lowest then. That is worth planning for rather than being surprised by; ask your travel advisor about the cancellation terms for those dates before you commit.

Which Palm Beach hotel offers the best value?

By entry rate, the Amrit Ocean Resort in Riviera Beach at around 340 € per night – and it is on the ocean, with an iPrefer membership and a Luxury suite category.

The Ben in West Palm Beach at 350 € is the alternative if you would rather have a walkable downtown and Marriott Bonvoy points than the beach.

The interesting comparison, though, is with the island: The Breakers starts at 670 € and The Vineta at 834 €, roughly double either of those or more. What the premium buys is the Palm Beach address itself, and at The Breakers eight suite categories – a genuine difference, but one worth choosing knowingly rather than by default.
