Your guide to the best luxury hotel suites on the Gold Coast

The Gold Coast is not one place but a 20-kilometre string of beaches, and our four properties sit in three different parts of it: two in Surfers Paradise, one at Main Beach and one at Burleigh Heads. Choosing here means choosing which stretch of coast you want, and the price differences between them are smaller than most people expect. The Langham Gold CoastThe Langham Gold Coast · Surfers ParadiseEvery booking through suitespot comes with a comprehensive package of suitespot benefits:
  • Complimentary breakfast for two
  • Room upgrade subject to availability
  • Up to USD 100 hotel credit per stay
  • Early check-in & late check-out subject to availability
  • Regular points & status benefits in the hotel loyalty programs

Entry rates run from around EUR 197 to EUR 315 a night, with the middle of the field around EUR 262. The Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort Gold Coast at Main Beach opens at around EUR 197, Mondrian Gold Coast at Burleigh Heads follows at around EUR 250, The Langham Gold Coast in Surfers Paradise at around EUR 275 and the JW Marriott Gold Coast, also in Surfers Paradise, at around EUR 315.

That is a spread of around EUR 118 across the whole coast – noticeably more than Brisbane an hour to the north, where our four properties sit around EUR 157 in the middle, and above the Australian figure of around EUR 220 across our 63 rated properties. The Gold Coast is a beach destination and it prices like one. For none of the four do we hold a rating from our own stays.

Luxury hotel suites on the Gold Coast: where the choice actually is

Suites are overwhelmingly what this coast is searched for, and one property answers that on a different scale from the rest.JW Marriott Gold CoastJW Marriott Gold Coast · Surfers ParadiseThe Langham Gold Coast on Old Burleigh Road lists 66 room entries in our data – the second-deepest inventory of any property in our Australian selection, behind only the Ritz-Carlton Melbourne. They are sorted by outlook and by height: Deluxe with an ocean view, Deluxe with an ocean view and balcony, Deluxe Skyline Ocean View, Executive Ocean, a Hinterland category facing inland rather than out to sea, a Jewel and, at the top, a Chairman with an ocean view. If you want to specify exactly what you look at, this is the address.Personal luxury travel adviceOur travel advisors personally accompany your booking – 365 days a year, from the first offer to late check-out. Reach the suitespot VIP service via email or WhatsApp.Phone: +49 30 81452346 · hotel@suitespot.comAsk via WhatsAppWrite an emailThe Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort Gold Coast at Main Beach follows with 37 entries, and it is the only one on this page that distinguishes a Lagoon View alongside garden, resort, partial ocean and ocean views, up to a Presidential facing the sea. It also lists a Studio.

Mondrian Gold Coast at Burleigh Heads takes the opposite approach with 16 entries named for what they face rather than for their rank: Beach, Ocean, Ocean XL, Sky, Sunset, Burleigh Headland View, an Interconnecting Sunset and a One Bedroom – the only one-bedroom category on this page. The JW Marriott Gold Coast keeps the shortest list at ten, but nearly every entry faces the ocean, and its top categories are a Luminous, a Residential and a Presidential, each with an ocean view and a balcony.

Surfers Paradise, Main Beach or Burleigh Heads?

The three stretches of coast are genuinely different places, and the drive between the furthest two – Main Beach and Burleigh Heads – is around 13 kilometres. Distances below are straight-line figures from Gold Coast airport, calculated from the properties’ own coordinates.Mondrian Gold CoastMondrian Gold Coast · Burleigh HeadsThe short version: Surfers Paradise for the high-rise waterfront, Main Beach for a resort with grounds, Burleigh Heads for the quieter southern end.

Surfers Paradise – the two towers

The JW Marriott Gold Coast at 158 Ferny Avenue (from around EUR 315, Marriott Bonvoy, around 21 km from the airport) and The Langham Gold Coast at 38 Old Burleigh Road (from around EUR 275, Brilliant by Langham, around 18 km) are the two Surfers Paradise addresses and the two most expensive on this page. The Langham has by far the wider choice of categories; the JW Marriott is the more consistently ocean-facing.

Main Beach – the resort with grounds

The Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort Gold Coast at 71 Seaworld Drive (from around EUR 197, Marriott Bonvoy, around 23 km from the airport) is the least expensive of the four and the one built as a resort rather than a tower – it is the only address here with a Lagoon View category. Main Beach sits at the northern end of the strip.

Burleigh Heads – the southern end

Mondrian Gold Coast at 3 First Avenue (from around EUR 250, ALL) is around 10 km from the airport, the closest of the four, and around 13 km south of the Sheraton. Burleigh Heads is the quieter, lower-rise end of the coast; the hotel’s categories name it directly with a Burleigh Headland View. It currently offers a free third night.

One more address on this coast – but not on this page

The Sofitel Gold Coast Broadbeach at 81 Surf Parade (from around EUR 153 a night, ALL) sits at Broadbeach, between Surfers Paradise and Burleigh Heads. In our data it is filed under Broadbeach rather than the Gold Coast, so it does not appear in the list below – but it is the least expensive address on this coast by some margin. If you are comparing the Gold Coast rather than our page structure, ask us for it too.

Two offers that change the arithmetic

At this price level the length-of-stay offers matter more than the choice of category, and two of the four properties currently run one.Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort Gold CoastSheraton Grand Mirage Resort Gold Coast · Main BeachMondrian Gold Coast at Burleigh Heads gives a free third night. On a three-night stay at around EUR 250 that is effectively a third off, which brings it below the Sheraton’s nightly rate without giving up the newer house. The JW Marriott Gold Coast discounts up to 15 % from five nights – the more useful of the two if you are staying a week, and the only way its EUR 315 entry rate comes close to the rest of the field.

The Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort and The Langham Gold Coast have no valid offer with us at the moment. The Sheraton ran a four-night discount that has since expired, and we would rather say so than quote something you cannot book.

Offers and their dates change frequently. The versions valid today, including your suitespot benefits, are shown with each property below – and if your dates are movable, send them to us and we will check what actually applies.

What a luxury hotel on the Gold Coast costs

Entry rates across our four Gold Coast properties currently run from around EUR 197 a night (Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort) to around EUR 315 (JW Marriott), with a middle of around EUR 262. All four carry a published rate with us.

That puts this coast above the Australian middle of around EUR 220 across our 63 rated properties, and well above Brisbane an hour north at around EUR 157. It is one of the few places in Australia where a beach location costs more than a capital-city one – Sydney, with its three beach addresses at Manly, Coogee and Brighton-Le-Sands, prices those below its harbour hotels.

Two things soften that. The first is the pair of offers described above. The second is the Sofitel Gold Coast Broadbeach at around EUR 153 a night, which sits on this coast but on a different page in our data – it is the least expensive way onto the Gold Coast in our selection by around EUR 44 a night. Ask us for it if budget is the deciding factor.

Exclusive experiences & premium services

All four Gold Coast properties belong to a loyalty programme: Marriott Bonvoy at two (JW Marriott Gold Coast, Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort), Brilliant by Langham at The Langham Gold Coast and ALL at Mondrian Gold Coast. suitespot rates are genuine direct rates, so points and elite nights accrue as normal.Personal luxury travel adviceOur travel advisors personally accompany your booking – 365 days a year, from the first offer to late check-out. Mondrian Gold Coast adds a hotel credit of up to USD 100 per stay; The Langham carries its own house credit instead; the JW Marriott and the Sheraton run the package through the upgrade, the welcome gift and the waived minimum stay.

As a suitespot guest you travel with VIP status: our advisers register your preferences with the property before you arrive. On this coast the request that matters is the floor and the aspect. Three of the four are towers, the categories name the ocean but not the height, and on a beachfront building the difference between a low and a high floor is the whole view. Tell us if that is the reason for the booking.

Which Gold Coast hotel has the best suites?

The Langham Gold Coast on Old Burleigh Road, by a wide margin on choice: our data records 66 room entries, the second-deepest inventory in our Australian selection after the Ritz-Carlton Melbourne. The ladder runs from Deluxe with an ocean view through Deluxe Skyline Ocean View and Executive Ocean to a Jewel and a Chairman with an ocean view, plus a Hinterland category facing inland. For a one-bedroom rather than a suite, Mondrian Gold Coast is the one with that category.

Which part of the Gold Coast should I stay in?

Surfers Paradise for the classic high-rise waterfront – the JW Marriott Gold Coast and The Langham Gold Coast, the two most expensive addresses on this page. Main Beach at the northern end for a resort with grounds rather than a tower: the Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort, the least expensive of our four at around EUR 197. Burleigh Heads in the south for the quieter, lower-rise end: Mondrian Gold Coast, which is also the closest to the airport at around 10 kilometres. Main Beach and Burleigh Heads are around 13 kilometres apart.

Are there current offers on the Gold Coast?

Yes, two. Mondrian Gold Coast gives a free third night – on a three-night stay that is effectively a third off. The JW Marriott Gold Coast discounts up to 15 % from five nights, which is the more useful of the two for a week-long stay. The Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort and The Langham Gold Coast have no valid offer with us at present. Offers change frequently – give us your dates and we will confirm what applies.

Do you have a hotel at Broadbeach?

Yes, but not on this page. The Sofitel Gold Coast Broadbeach at 81 Surf Parade runs on ALL from around EUR 153 a night – the least expensive address on this coast in our selection, around EUR 44 below the next one. In our data it is filed under Broadbeach rather than under the Gold Coast, so it does not appear in the list below. Ask us for it directly and we will quote it alongside the four here.

Which Gold Coast hotel is closest to the airport?

Mondrian Gold Coast at Burleigh Heads, around 10 kilometres from Gold Coast airport in a straight line. Then come The Langham Gold Coast (around 18 km), the JW Marriott Gold Coast (around 21 km) and the Sheraton Grand Mirage Resort at Main Beach (around 23 km). These are straight-line figures calculated from the properties’ own coordinates; the coast road adds time, particularly in summer.

Gold Coast or Brisbane?

Brisbane if the trip is about the city and the budget: our four properties there run from around EUR 130 to EUR 225 with a middle of around EUR 157, and each sits in a different loyalty programme. The Gold Coast if you came for the beach – it costs around EUR 100 a night more in the middle of the field, and what you get for it is the sea in front of the room. The two are around an hour apart, and a common shape is two nights in the city followed by the coast. We are happy to book it as one trip.
