Raffles Doha · Lusail Marina DistrictWith every booking through suitespot you receive a comprehensive package of suitespot benefits:The highest entry rates are away from the skyline: the Katara Hills in the Katara Cultural Village (from around 780 €), Maysan Doha in Al Rayyan (458 €), The Chedi Katara (390 €) and the Anantara Banana Island, reached by boat (323 €).
In West Bay, the business skyline along the Corniche, stand eight properties – among them The St. Regis Doha (192 €), The Ritz-Carlton (173 €), the Grand Hyatt (119 €), the W Doha (117 €) and the Pullman West Bay (68 €), one of the lowest entry rates anywhere we list. In Lusail, the new city to the north, follow the Waldorf Astoria Lusail (260 €), Raffles Doha (230 €), Le Royal Méridien (213 €) and the Fairmont (142 €); on The Pearl, the St. Regis Marsa Arabia (214 €) and the Marsa Malaz Kempinski (204 €).
The single most useful fact about Doha is its price level. With a median entry rate of around 160 € per night across twenty-nine properties, Doha is cheaper than Prague (233 €), Seville (190 €) and the Algarve (210 €) – and it is the only city in our portfolio where you can begin a stay at a Pullman, a Grand Hyatt, a W or a Park Hyatt for between 68 and 121 €.
Waldorf Astoria Lusail Doha · LusailThe reason is supply. Doha built an enormous amount of luxury hotel capacity in a short time, and outside the event weeks that capacity has to fill. Twenty-two of the twenty-eight priced properties start below 220 €; only four begin above 300 €.Personal luxury travel adviceOur travel advisors personally accompany your booking – 365 days a year, from the first offer to late check-out. Reach the suitespot VIP service via email or WhatsApp.Phone: +49 30 81452346 · hotel@suitespot.comWhat that changes in practice: in Doha, the sensible move is not to find the cheapest property but to book a category up. The gap between an entry room at the Ritz-Carlton (173 €) and a suite at a property elsewhere in our portfolio is often smaller than the gap within a single European hotel. Ask our travel advisors to price the suite – in Doha the answer surprises people.
The exceptions sit at the top and are worth knowing: the Katara Hills (780 €), Maysan Doha (458 €), The Chedi Katara (390 €) and the Anantara Banana Island (323 €), which is reached by boat from the mainland.
The most important practical point about Doha is the season, and it is the opposite of Europe. From June to September daytime temperatures regularly pass 45 °C and the city moves indoors entirely – rates are at their lowest then, for good reason. The comfortable months are November to March, which is also when rates peak and the big events fill the city.
Second, the geography: Doha is spread out and built for cars. West Bay to Lusail is around fifteen minutes, West Bay to the airport twenty, and the Katara and Pearl districts sit between them along the coast. The metro is fast, clean and covers the main axes – it is genuinely usable, which is unusual in the Gulf.
Third, the programmes: the coverage here is close to total. Twenty-eight of the twenty-nine properties belong to a loyalty programme – only the Mandarin Oriental does not. Marriott Bonvoy leads with nine, followed by ALL (6), Hilton Honors (5), GHA Discovery and World of Hyatt (3 each), plus the Leaders Club and IHG Rewards. Whatever status you hold, Doha will recognise it.
Doha's districts are recent, distinct and some distance apart – the city was planned rather than grown.
Fairmont Doha · Lisail CityThese six areas cover our twenty-nine properties.
Eight properties, the largest cluster: The St. Regis Doha (from around 192 €), The Ritz-Carlton at West Bay Lagoon (173 €), the InterContinental Doha Beach (139 €), the Waldorf Astoria West Bay (129 €), the Grand Hyatt (119 €), the W Doha (117 €), the Mondrian (105 €) and the Pullman West Bay (68 €). This is the business centre and the most practical base.
Built from nothing over the past decade, around fifteen minutes from West Bay: the Waldorf Astoria Lusail (260 €), Raffles Doha in the Marina District (230 €), Le Royal Méridien at Place Vendôme (213 €) and the Fairmont Doha in the Marina District (142 €). Modern, spacious and quiet – with less street life than West Bay.
The artificial islands off the coast: The St. Regis Marsa Arabia Island (214 €) and the Marsa Malaz Kempinski at Costa Malaz Bay (204 €) on The Pearl, and the Anantara Banana Island (323 €), which is reached by boat and functions as a resort rather than a city hotel.
Two very different quarters. In the Katara Cultural Village stand the Katara Hills (780 €) – the highest entry rate in our Doha portfolio – and The Chedi Katara (390 €). In Msheireb Downtown, the rebuilt old centre, sit the Mandarin Oriental (160 €) and the Park Hyatt (121 €).
Along the bay south of West Bay: the Sheraton Grand Doha on the Corniche (171 €), Sharq Village on Ras Abu Abboud Street (180 €) and the Rixos Gulf (97 €).
Seven further properties spread across the city: Maysan Doha in Al Rayyan (458 €), the Al Messila Resort (160 €), the Banyan Tree on Al Khaleej Street (134 €), The Plaza Doha on C Ring Road (125 €), the JW Marriott Marquis City Center (106 €), the Andaz Doha on Diplomatic Street (93 €) and the Kempinski Residences & Suites on Al Qassar Street.
Doha is the city in our portfolio where the suite is the sensible booking rather than the indulgent one, and the arithmetic is simple.
Waldorf Astoria Doha West Bay · West BayTwenty-two of our properties have entry rates below 220 €. In most of our European cities that figure buys an entry-level room; here it buys the room at a Ritz-Carlton, a St. Regis, a Sheraton Grand or a Sharq Village. Step up one category and you are frequently still below what an ordinary room costs in Paris, Venice or Tel Aviv.
The properties with the deepest ranges are the large ones: The Ritz-Carlton Doha at West Bay Lagoon (from around 173 €), The St. Regis Doha (192 €), the Marsa Malaz Kempinski on The Pearl (204 €) and the St. Regis Marsa Arabia Island (214 €). At the top, the Katara Hills (780 €) and Maysan Doha (458 €) are built around suites rather than rooms.
And one property is explicit about it in its name: the Kempinski Residences & Suites on Al Qassar Street, which is available on request.
Tell our travel advisors how many of you are travelling and what the trip is for – in Doha they will almost always come back with a larger category than you expected for the budget.
The highest entry rate belongs to the Katara Hills in the Katara Cultural Village at around 780 € per night – well clear of the field, since the second, Maysan Doha in Al Rayyan, starts at 458 €. Then come The Chedi Katara (390 €) and the Anantara Banana Island (323 €).
Below those four, the market changes shape entirely. Only four of the twenty-nine properties begin above 300 €, and twenty-two start below 220 €.
At the other end, the Pullman Doha West Bay begins at around 68 € – among the lowest entry rates anywhere in our portfolio. It is followed by the Andaz Doha (93 €), the Rixos Gulf (97 €), the JW Marriott Marquis City Center (106 €) and the Mondrian (105 €), the W Doha (117 €), the Grand Hyatt (119 €), the Park Hyatt in Msheireb (121 €) and The Plaza (125 €).
Read those names again: a Park Hyatt at 121 € and a W at 117 € are rates that do not exist for those brands anywhere else in our portfolio. That, rather than the top of the range, is what makes Doha worth a look.
What our travel advisors arrange most often in Doha are desert excursions to the inland sea at Khor Al Adaid, private visits to the Museum of Islamic Art and the National Museum, and tables at the restaurants in West Bay and on The Pearl. Around the Souq Waqif, the old market, a guide makes a real difference – it is far larger than it appears from the entrance.Personal luxury travel adviceOur travel advisors personally accompany your booking – 365 days a year, from the first offer to late check-out. Reach the suitespot VIP service via email or WhatsApp.Phone: +49 30 81452346 · hotel@suitespot.comFor orientation: West Bay to Lusail is around fifteen minutes, to Hamad International Airport about twenty, and to the Katara and Pearl districts ten to fifteen along the coast. The metro covers the main axes and is genuinely usable. The Anantara Banana Island is the exception – it is reached by boat, and the crossing is part of the stay.
As a suitespot guest you travel with VIP status: we pass your preferences to the hotel before you arrive – in Doha most often a higher floor or a bay-facing room in the West Bay towers. On top of that, every property includes breakfast for two, an upgrade subject to availability and up to 100 USD hotel credit. At a median entry rate of 160 € per night, that credit can exceed the cost of the room itself.
suitespot rates are genuine direct rates: you keep earning regular points and elite nights in the hotel's loyalty program and retain your status benefits – on top of your suitespot benefits. These programs are represented in Doha:
| Program | Hotels | Examples in Doha |
|---|---|---|
| Marriott Bonvoy | 9 hotels | The Ritz-Carlton Doha, The St. Regis Doha, W Doha … |
| ALL (Accor) | 6 hotels | Raffles Doha, Fairmont Doha, Pullman Doha West Bay … |
| Hilton Honors | 5 hotels | Waldorf Astoria Lusail Doha, Waldorf Astoria Doha West Bay, The Plaza Doha … |
| GHA Discovery | 3 hotels | Anantara Banana Island Doha, Marsa Malaz Kempinski The Pearl Doha, Kempinski Residences & Suites Doha |
| World of Hyatt | 3 hotels | Park Hyatt Doha, Andaz Doha, Grand Hyatt Doha |
| IHG One Rewards | 1 hotel | InterContinental Doha Beach |
| Leaders Club | 1 hotel | The Chedi Katara |
Entry rates for our 29 luxury hotels in Doha start at around 70 € per night (Pullman Doha West Bay) and reach about 780 € per night at the Katara Hills. The median entry rate is around 160 € per night.
That median is lower than Prague (233 €), Seville (190 €) and the Algarve (210 €) – in a city where almost every international luxury brand is present. Twenty-two of the twenty-eight priced properties start below 220 €, and only four begin above 300 €. A Park Hyatt at 121 € and a W at 117 € are rates those brands do not reach anywhere else in our portfolio. With suitespot you always book at direct rates, and the benefits worth more than 500 € come on top.
Because almost every international luxury group has built here, and in a short space of time. Our selection alone runs to 29 properties: Marriott accounts for nine of them, Accor for six and Hilton for five.
In practice that means the question in Doha is rarely whether a particular brand is available, but which of several to choose. West Bay alone holds eight properties within a few minutes of each other – a St. Regis, a Ritz-Carlton, a Grand Hyatt, a W, an InterContinental, a Waldorf Astoria, a Mondrian and a Pullman.
It also explains the price level: with that much capacity, rates outside the event weeks are low for the category. Our travel advisors know the differences between the towers – floor heights, which face the bay, which have the better pools – and will narrow twenty-nine down to two or three for your dates.
West Bay is the most practical base: eight of our properties stand in the business skyline along the Corniche, from The St. Regis (from around 190 €) and The Ritz-Carlton (173 €) down to the Pullman West Bay (68 €).
Lusail, the new city fifteen minutes north, is modern, spacious and quieter – the Waldorf Astoria Lusail (260 €), Raffles Doha (230 €), Le Royal Méridien (213 €) and the Fairmont (142 €). The Pearl holds the St. Regis Marsa Arabia (214 €) and the Marsa Malaz Kempinski (204 €).
For something other than a city hotel: Katara Cultural Village has the Katara Hills (780 €) and The Chedi (390 €), Msheireb – the rebuilt old centre – the Mandarin Oriental (160 €) and Park Hyatt (121 €), and the Anantara Banana Island is a boat ride offshore (323 €).
Yes – and Doha has close to total coverage. Twenty-eight of our twenty-nine properties belong to a loyalty programme; only the Mandarin Oriental Doha does not.
Marriott Bonvoy leads with nine properties – The St. Regis Doha, The St. Regis Marsa Arabia, The Ritz-Carlton, the Sheraton Grand, Sharq Village, Al Messila, Le Royal Méridien, the W Doha and the JW Marriott Marquis. ALL follows with six (Raffles, Fairmont, Banyan Tree, Mondrian, Rixos Gulf, Pullman), Hilton Honors with five (Katara Hills, Maysan, both Waldorf Astorias, The Plaza), then GHA Discovery and World of Hyatt with three each and the Leaders Club and IHG Rewards with one.
Whatever status you hold, Doha will recognise it. Your status benefits apply everywhere; the suitespot benefits come in addition.
Our Qatari selection is concentrated on Doha and its immediate surroundings – but that already covers more ground than the name suggests, because several of our twenty-nine properties are not in the city centre.
Lusail, the new city about fifteen minutes north, holds four of them (Waldorf Astoria Lusail, Raffles Doha, Le Royal Méridien, Fairmont Doha). Maysan Doha is in Al Rayyan, inland from the city (458 €). And the Anantara Banana Island sits on an island offshore, reached by boat (323 €) – the closest thing to a beach resort in our Qatari selection.
If you want desert rather than city, our travel advisors will build the excursions from a Doha base – the inland sea at Khor Al Adaid is a day trip.
The opposite of Europe. From June to September, daytime temperatures regularly exceed 45 °C and life moves indoors entirely. Rates are at their lowest then – which is worth knowing rather than discovering on arrival.
The comfortable months are November to March, when the weather is warm and dry and outdoor life works. That is also when rates peak and the major events fill the city; if your dates fall in that window, book early.
April, May and October are the compromise: hot but manageable, and priced between the two extremes. Our travel advisors will tell you what a given week looks like for your dates and what the pool and beach facilities are doing at that time of year.
The Pullman Doha West Bay starts at around 68 € per night – among the lowest entry rates anywhere in our portfolio. Next come the Andaz Doha on Diplomatic Street (93 €), the Rixos Gulf (97 €), the JW Marriott Marquis City Center (106 €) and the Mondrian (105 €), the W Doha (117 €), Grand Hyatt (119 €) and the Park Hyatt Doha in Msheireb (121 €).
Those brand names at those rates are the real story: a Park Hyatt at 121 € and a W at 117 € do not exist at that level anywhere else in our portfolio.
A step up, the Fairmont Doha in Lusail (142 €), the Mandarin Oriental in Msheireb (160 €), the Sheraton Grand on the Corniche (171 €) and The Ritz-Carlton (173 €) are still below the median of most European cities we cover.
Doha is the city where booking a suite makes the most sense, simply because the base rates are low. Twenty-two of our properties start below 220 €, so one category up is often still below what an ordinary room costs in Paris or Venice.
The deepest ranges are at the large properties: The Ritz-Carlton Doha at West Bay Lagoon (from around 173 €), The St. Regis Doha (192 €), the Marsa Malaz Kempinski on The Pearl (204 €) and the St. Regis Marsa Arabia Island (214 €).
At the top end, the Katara Hills (780 €) and Maysan Doha (458 €) are built around suites rather than rooms, and the Kempinski Residences & Suites on Al Qassar Street says so in its name – it is available on request.
Tell our travel advisors what the trip is for; in Doha they will usually come back with a larger category than the budget suggested.
