Dubai has the strongest seasonality in our portfolio: high season runs from November to March, and in high summer rates fall dramatically – the same properties that start in the low three figures in January are often worth half that in July and August. If you can take the heat and plan to spend your time in the water and in air-conditioned interiors anyway, this is the best value in the entire collection.

Fifteen of our properties stand on the Palm, from Atlantis The Royal at its tip (from around 720 €) through Raffles The Palm, the Waldorf Astoria, W Dubai The Palm, The St. Regis The Palm, Fairmont The Palm, Sofitel The Palm, Anantara The Palm, Andaz The Palm and Taj Exotica to the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray. The lowest entry rate on the island is The Retreat Palm at around 50 € per night. All have their own beach; getting into town means driving.
Dubai Marina & JBR – towers on the water

DIFC, Trade Centre & Za'abeel – the business districts

Beach or city: which Dubai suits your trip?
The most common mistake when booking Dubai is the location – and one question avoids it: do you want to be on the water or in the city?
Raffles The Palm Dubai · The PalmFor a beach holiday, Palm Jumeirah, the Marina and Jumeirah Beach are the right addresses. Those properties have their own stretches of beach, and you may not leave the grounds for days. The price is distance: Downtown, the Burj Khalifa and the old town are 20 to 40 minutes away by car, and in high season Dubai's traffic is reliably slow.
For sightseeing and shopping, stay in Downtown or Business Bay – walking distance to the Burj Khalifa, the Dubai Mall and the metro, but no beach. The best compromise is the Marina: beach promenade and metro in one, with properties such as The Ritz-Carlton Dubai, the Address Beach Resort and the Westin Mina Seyahi.

That is the real finding about Dubai: the city has headline prices, but its median sits below Rome, Paris or Vienna. Travel flexibly and don't mind the high summer, and you get a beach resort here for European mid-market money.

It depends on whether you want the water or the city. Palm Jumeirah holds 15 of our properties, all with their own beach (Atlantis The Royal, Raffles The Palm, the Waldorf Astoria, W Dubai The Palm and others) – but it is a 30 to 40 minute drive into town. Downtown is the choice for the Burj Khalifa and the Dubai Mall (Address Downtown, Address Sky View, The Palace Downtown, Mandarin Oriental Downtown, The Dubai EDITION), but it has no beach.
The best compromise is the Dubai Marina: beach promenade and metro in one, with The Ritz-Carlton Dubai, the Address Beach Resort and the Westin Mina Seyahi. Quieter and more classical is Jumeirah Beach and Madinat Jumeirah.

High season runs from November to March: the weather is pleasant, properties are well booked and rates are markedly higher. In high summer, by contrast, prices fall sharply – the same properties that start in the low three figures in January often cost half that in July and August.
If you are going to spend your time by the pool, in the water and in air-conditioned interiors anyway, summer in Dubai offers the best value in our entire portfolio. For desert excursions or longer periods outdoors, winter is the clearly better choice.
