These are the addresses in Seattle is known for – in the order our travel advisors recommend them. Where each one stands and what it costs is right beside it. Our own first choice here is the Grand Hyatt Seattle.

| Grand Hyatt Seattle | Belltown | ★ 4.6/5 | 202 € |

| The Lodge at St. Edward Park Kenmore | St. Edward Park | ★ 4.6/5 | 207 € |
| Hyatt Regency Lake Washington Seattle | – | ★ 4.3/5 | 289 € |
| InterContinental Bellevue at the Avenue | Northwest Bellevue | ★ 4.3/5 | 313 € |
| W Bellevue | – | ★ 4.2/5 | 279 € |
| Thompson Seattle | Belltown | ★ 4.3/5 | 286 € |

Grand Hyatt Seattle · BelltownFor this guide we have put together the best hotels in Seattle: twelve luxury hotels, almost all of them 5-star hotels, with a typical rate of 283 € per night – slightly above Vancouver (269 €).The best hotels in Seattle stand in four locations, and one of them is not in Seattle at all.
The Fairmont Olympic Seattle · Downtown SeattleDowntown you find The Fairmont Olympic Seattle – for us the first address in the city –, the Lotte Hotel Seattle, the Hotel 1000 Seattle and the Astra Seattle, the cheapest 5-star hotel in Seattle.
On the waterfront and in Belltown follow the Grand Hyatt Seattle with the largest suite, the Thompson Seattle with the widest choice of categories and The Edgewater Hotel Seattle, the only hotel in the city built on piles over the water.
On First Hill stands the W Seattle.
And on the Eastside, across Lake Washington, lie the InterContinental Bellevue at the Avenue and the W Bellevue in Bellevue, the Hyatt Regency Lake Washington Seattle in Renton right on the lake, and The Lodge at St. Edward Park Kenmore in a former seminary in the middle of the woods.
In Seattle, breakfast deserves a closer look.
Because four of the twelve hotels replace the served breakfast with a breakfast credit – and the amounts differ. At the Grand Hyatt Seattle it is 39 US dollars, at the Lotte Hotel Seattle and The Edgewater Hotel Seattle 30 each, at The Lodge at St. Edward Park Kenmore 20.
One detail decides the morning: at the Grand Hyatt Seattle the credit works through room service only, service charges not included. If you like sitting downstairs in the restaurant, that breakfast is not meant for you.
The others repay close reading too. The W Bellevue serves a continental breakfast at the Lakehouse, the Thompson Seattle one à la carte dish with coffee or juice, the Astra Seattle one hot dish and one coffee. Full breakfast for two comes at four hotels: The Fairmont Olympic Seattle, the Hyatt Regency Lake Washington Seattle, the InterContinental Bellevue at the Avenue and the Hotel 1000 Seattle.
Our advice: tell us whether you want to sit at a table in the morning or order to the room – in Seattle that is not a matter of style, it is written into the terms.
For context: the typical rate is 283 €, slightly above Vancouver (269 €). For planning: at nine of the twelve hotels the suitespot benefits apply from the first night.
Seattle is a city of short distances and long bridges – and the question is mainly which side of the water you want to wake up on.
Lotte Hotel Seattle · Downtown SeattleDowntown you stay between Pike Place Market, the museums and the monorail to the Space Needle; all on foot, and the restaurants are within walking distance in the evening. Our recommendation: The Fairmont Olympic Seattle.
On the waterfront you are closer to the water than to the traffic: the ferries to Bainbridge Island leave from right there, the big wheel turns, and since the rebuild the piers are a promenade. Our recommendation: The Edgewater Hotel Seattle.
The Eastside is quieter and greener: Bellevue has the shops and the corporate offices, Kenmore and Renton have the lake and the woods. If you are here on business or after quiet, this is the side. Our recommendation: the InterContinental Bellevue at the Avenue.
For orientation: Sea-Tac airport is thirty minutes to the south, Bellevue twenty minutes to the east, Mount Rainier a good two hours – and the ferry to Bainbridge Island takes thirty-five minutes.
The best hotels in Seattle offer 272 categories, 76 of them suites.
The Lodge at St. Edward Park Kenmore · St. Edward ParkThe largest is at the Grand Hyatt Seattle: the Onyx Suite at 254 square metres, with two more from the same hotel at 125 each. Then follow a penthouse at The Edgewater Hotel Seattle at 92 and the Lotte Hotel Seattle at 89 square metres.
The widest choice is at the Thompson Seattle with 48 categories and The Fairmont Olympic Seattle with 46. At the other end stand The Lodge at St. Edward Park Kenmore with ten and the Astra Seattle with eleven.
For the view, almost every hotel here has its own subject, and the best exist only once: you see the Space Needle from the Astra Seattle alone, the mountains from the W Seattle alone, the forest from The Lodge at St. Edward Park Kenmore alone and the lake from the Hyatt Regency Lake Washington Seattle alone. The Edgewater Hotel Seattle is the only one with a panoramic water view – and from the Thompson Seattle you look straight down into the city.
Tell our travel advisors which subject it should be.

When it is at its best: from July to September. That is the dry season, the evenings are long, and on clear days Mount Rainier stands over the city as if someone had placed it there.
When it is cheap: from November to March. It rains a lot then, but rarely hard – and the museums, the concert halls and the coffee roasters are made for exactly that.
When to book early: in July and August, when the Alaska cruise season runs and the city handles two ships every Saturday, and for the big technology conferences.
And whatever the date: the suitespot benefits apply in January exactly as they do in August.
How long to stay: three nights – two for the city and one for the water: a ferry to Bainbridge Island or a day on Lake Washington. If Mount Rainier is on the list, take a fourth.
At nine of the twelve hotels they apply from the first night; at the Grand Hyatt Seattle, the Hyatt Regency Lake Washington Seattle and The Lodge at St. Edward Park Kenmore from at least two nights.
Points and status you collect at nine of the twelve hotels, spread across 4 programmes. The most common is World of Hyatt with four.
What our travel advisors arrange most often in Seattle is the late afternoon ferry to Bainbridge Island: thirty-five minutes across, dinner in town, and on the way back the skyline stands lit in front of you – for the price of a ferry ticket.
Personal luxury travel adviceOur travel advisors personally accompany your booking – 365 days a year, from the first offer to late check-out. Reach the suitespot VIP service via email or WhatsApp.Phone: +49 30 81452346 · hotel@suitespot.comAdd to that: Pike Place Market before nine, ahead of the groups; Chihuly Garden and Glass at the foot of the Space Needle; the Rem Koolhaas library, worth entering without a book in mind; and a day in the Olympic or Mount Rainier national park.
And the food: oysters from Puget Sound, salmon that nobody here explains to you because you simply eat it – and the coffee, with which this city founded a global brand and which it now does better in small roasteries.
On top of the upgrade chance and late check-out, ten of the twelve hotels add a hotel credit.
100 US dollars to spend freely come at the Grand Hyatt Seattle, the InterContinental Bellevue at the Avenue, the Thompson Seattle and the Hotel 1000 Seattle; 100 US dollars for food and drink at The Fairmont Olympic Seattle, the Lotte Hotel Seattle, The Edgewater Hotel Seattle and the W Seattle, there in the Trace Market or the W Living Room Bar. 50 US dollars come at the Hyatt Regency Lake Washington Seattle and The Lodge at St. Edward Park Kenmore.
For breakfast, see the paragraph further up – it is not the same everywhere here. We register your VIP status before arrival.
