Add an indoor and an outdoor pool with two hot tubs – at the end of the world, a heated pool facing the channel –, a spa and the restaurant La Cravia with king crab and Patagonian lamb. The Junior Suite at 50 square metres is the second-largest category and the entry into the suite class – but it faces the valley, not the channel. Anyone booking the recommendation gets the mountains. Anyone wanting the channel has two routes: the Deluxe at 37, thirteen square metres smaller and the only room facing the sea – or the Senior Suite at 70, the largest category of all.

Our advice: Book the view, not the size. One travels to Ushuaia for the channel; the Deluxe at 37 facing the sea is the more honest booking than the Junior Suite at 50 facing the valley – unless the mountains are the reason for the trip.

What lies within reach: the hiking trails of the reserve, from the door; the port with the excursion boats to the Les Éclaireurs lighthouse and the Antarctic ships, just under four kilometres; Tierra del Fuego National Park with the end of Ruta 3 and the Southern Fuegian Railway, 16 kilometres.
For orientation: Malvinas Argentinas airport is a quarter of an hour away, the centre with Avenida San Martín ten minutes by shuttle. Cerro Castor, the southernmost ski resort in the world, is half an hour. One drives into town; in the reserve one walks.
