Hotel Martinez Cannes · Pointe CroisetteWith every booking through suitespot you enjoy a comprehensive package of suitespot benefits:The top end sits around Saint-Tropez and inland: La Réserve Ramatuelle (from around 1,112 €), the Château Saint-Martin above Vence (910 €), the Althoff Hotel Villa Belrose Saint-Tropez in Gassin (822 €) and the AREV St. Tropez (700 €).
The greatest density, by contrast, is on the coast between Cannes and Monaco: seven properties in Nice, six in Cannes and four in Monaco – among them the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo (400 €), the Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo (380 €) and the Regent Carlton Cannes (408 €).
The entry level starts with Le Méridien Nice on the Promenade des Anglais (154 €), followed by the Ultimate Provence Hotel in La Garde-Freinet (160 €) and the Indigo Tiara Miramar in Théoule-sur-Mer (202 €).
Saint-Tropez and Menton are some 150 kilometres of coast apart, and the places could hardly be more different. So here is the selection by type of trip rather than as a ranking.
Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo · Monte CarloFor city and culture: Nice with seven properties – old town, museums, the promenade and an airport practically in the city. The entry level is lowest here (Le Méridien Nice, 154 €), the top end at the Hôtel du Couvent Nice (345 €).Personal luxury travel adviceOur travel advisors personally accompany your booking – 365 days a year, from the first offer to late check-out. Reach the suitespot VIP service via email or WhatsApp.Phone: +49 30 81452346 · hotel@suitespot.comFor glamour and beach clubs: Cannes with six properties on and beside the Croisette, from the JW Marriott Cannes (233 €) to the Regent Carlton Cannes (408 €).
For summer, yachts and nightlife: Saint-Tropez and its gulf, with the Hotel Byblos Saint-Tropez (439 €), the AREV St. Tropez (700 €), the Althoff Hotel Villa Belrose Saint-Tropez in Gassin (822 €) and La Réserve Ramatuelle (1,112 €).
For quiet: the hinterland, with the Château Saint-Martin above Vence (910 €), the Terre Blanche Resort in Tourrettes (397 €) and the two properties in Saint-Paul-de-Vence (245 € and 225 €).
Our 37 properties fall into four clearly distinct stretches – and the drives between them are longer than the map suggests.
Fairmont Monte Carlo · Monte CarloThese four groups cover the selection.
Seventeen of our properties stand here: seven in Nice (154 € to 345 €), six in Cannes (223 € to 408 €) and four in Monaco – the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo (400 €), the Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo (380 €), the Fairmont Monte Carlo (289 €) and the Le Méridien Beach Plaza Monaco (282 €). All three places are connected by train.
The western stretch, the most sought-after in summer: the Hotel Byblos Saint-Tropez (439 €), the AREV St. Tropez (700 €) and the Hotel de Paris Saint-Tropez in town, plus the Althoff Hotel Villa Belrose Saint-Tropez in Gassin (822 €), La Réserve Ramatuelle (1,112 €) and, in La Croix-Valmer, the Hôtel Lily of the Valley (557 €) and the Château De Valmer (330 €).
Between the cities lie the quieter peninsulas: the Royal Riviera Cap Ferrat in St. Jean Cap Ferrat (249 €), The Maybourne Riviera above Roquebrune-Cap-Martin (500 €), the Hôtel Juana Juan-Les-Pins in Antibes (300 €) and, west of Cannes in Théoule-sur-Mer, the Château de Théoule (350 €) and the Indigo Tiara Miramar (202 €).
Eight properties are not on the water, and we say so plainly: the Château Saint-Martin above Vence (910 €), the Terre Blanche Resort in Tourrettes (397 €), Hotel Le Saint Paul (245 €) and the Hotel Le Domaine du Mas de Pierre (225 €) in Saint-Paul-de-Vence, the Chateau de Berne in Flayosc (338 €), the Ultimate Provence Hotel in La Garde-Freinet (160 €) and – already in Provence – the Villa Gallici Aix-en-Provence (330 €) and the Château de Fonscolombe in Le Puy-Sainte-Réparade (292 €). For the last two you need a car and should allow a good two hours to the coast.
Four properties in our selection start at 700 € per night or above, and they stand for four different ideas of luxury on this coast.
Le Méridien Beach Plaza Monaco · LarvottoLa Réserve Ramatuelle (from around 1,112 €) sits above the sea south of Saint-Tropez, away from the town. The Château Saint-Martin above Vence (910 €) is its inland counterpart: an estate in the hills looking towards the coast rather than onto the beach.
The Althoff Hotel Villa Belrose Saint-Tropez in Gassin (822 €) and the AREV St. Tropez (700 €) belong to the summer scene around the gulf.
In the upper middle come The Maybourne Riviera above Roquebrune-Cap-Martin (500 €) – the most exposed position in our selection, high above the cap between Monaco and Menton – and the Hôtel Lily of the Valley La Croix-Valmer (557 €).
For comparison: the median entry rate across our 37 properties is around 304 €. On the Riviera the top end is not the norm but a distinct step up.
This coast is the Leaders Club heartland of our portfolio: 13 of our 37 properties run on the Leaders Club – among them both Monte-Carlo houses (Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo, Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo), La Réserve Ramatuelle, the Hotel Byblos Saint-Tropez, Le Negresco Nice and the Hôtel Barrière Le Majestic Cannes.
Marriott Bonvoy follows with five properties, World of Hyatt, ALL, iPrefer and IHG One Rewards with two each, Relais & Châteaux with one.
Ten properties take part in no loyalty programme – among them the Château Saint-Martin, The Maybourne Riviera, the Villa Gallici Aix-en-Provence and the Hôtel la Pérouse Nice. That is no accident on this coast: many of the most characterful houses are owner-run.
In practice: if you want status nights, the Riviera offers plenty of choice – if you want the very top, you will often have to do without points.
Arrival is almost always via Nice airport: Cannes and Monaco are each about half an hour away, Saint-Tropez a good hour and a half. Trains run between Nice, Monaco and Cannes – for the Gulf of Saint-Tropez and the hinterland you need a car.Personal luxury travel adviceOur travel advisors personally accompany your booking – 365 days a year, from the first offer to late check-out. Reach the suitespot VIP service via email or WhatsApp.Phone: +49 30 81452346 · hotel@suitespot.comTwo dates set prices along the whole coast: the Cannes film festival in May and the Monaco Grand Prix in late May. In those weeks properties sell out early and rates sit far above the entry prices quoted here.
What our travel advisors arrange most often are boat days – from Saint-Tropez, Cannes or Monaco – tables at the beach restaurants and trips inland to Saint-Paul-de-Vence and Èze.
As a suitespot guest you travel with VIP status: we register your preferences with the hotel before arrival – on this coast most often a sea view and a quiet position within the property.
All 37 properties include breakfast for two, 35 of 37 an upgrade subject to availability and 32 a late check-out – the five exceptions are all inland. Twenty properties add a welcome gift and twelve a 100 USD hotel credit.
Only two properties require a minimum stay: the Mondrian Cannes and the Hôtel la Pérouse Nice, two nights each.
suitespot rates are genuine direct rates: you keep earning regular points and elite nights in the hotel's loyalty program and retain your status benefits – on top of your suitespot benefits. These programs are represented on the French Riviera:
| Program | Hotels | Examples on the French Riviera |
|---|---|---|
| Leaders Club | 13 hotels | Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo, Hôtel Barrière Le Majestic Cannes, Royal Riviera Cap Ferrat … |
| Marriott Bonvoy | 5 hotels | Le Méridien Beach Plaza Monaco, Le Méridien Nice, JW Marriott Cannes … |
| ALL (Accor) | 2 hotels | Fairmont Monte Carlo, Mondrian Cannes |
| I Prefer | 2 hotels | Maison Albar - Le Victoria Nice, Hotel de Paris Saint Tropez |
| IHG One Rewards | 2 hotels | Indigo Tiara Miramar, Regent Carlton Cannes |
| World of Hyatt | 2 hotels | Hotel Martinez Cannes, Hotel Palais de la Méditerranée Nice |
| Relais & Châteaux | 1 hotel | Château De Valmer |
Entry rates across our 37 properties start at around 154 € per night at Le Méridien Nice and reach about 1,112 € per night at La Réserve Ramatuelle. The median entry rate is around 304 €.
The difference follows the type of property more than the place: in Nice properties start between 154 € and 345 €, in Cannes between 223 € and 408 €, in Monaco between 282 € and 400 € – the top end sits around Saint-Tropez and inland.
For the Hotel de Paris Saint-Tropez our inventory currently holds no entry rate; our travel advisors will obtain it directly.
Nice for city, culture and short distances – seven properties, the airport on the doorstep and trains to Monaco and Cannes.
Cannes for the Croisette, beach clubs and festival atmosphere – six properties, from the JW Marriott Cannes (from around 233 €) to the Regent Carlton Cannes (408 €).
Saint-Tropez and its gulf for summer, with the most expensive addresses in our selection. The hinterland around Vence, Tourrettes and Saint-Paul-de-Vence for quiet – though there you will need a car.
Yes. suitespot rates are full direct rates: you earn regular points and status nights in the respective hotel programme.
On the Riviera the Leaders Club leads clearly with 13 properties, followed by Marriott Bonvoy (five), and World of Hyatt, ALL, iPrefer and IHG One Rewards with two each, plus Relais & Châteaux with one.
Ten properties take part in no loyalty programme – among them several of the most expensive addresses. You receive the suitespot benefits there, but neither points nor status nights.
Four properties: the Hôtel Hermitage Monte-Carlo on Square Beaumarchais (from around 400 €), the Hotel Metropole Monte-Carlo (380 €), the Fairmont Monte Carlo on Avenue des Spélugues (289 €) and the Le Méridien Beach Plaza Monaco on Avenue Princesse Grace in Larvotto (282 €).
Monaco therefore has the narrowest price range of any place in our selection – under 120 € between the lowest and highest entry rate.
Mind the Grand Prix in late May: in that week all four sell out early and rates sit far above the entry prices.
In town, the Hotel Byblos Saint-Tropez (from around 439 €), the AREV St. Tropez (700 €) and the Hotel de Paris Saint-Tropez.
Around the gulf follow the Althoff Hotel Villa Belrose Saint-Tropez in Gassin (822 €), La Réserve Ramatuelle (1,112 €) and, in La Croix-Valmer, the Hôtel Lily of the Valley (557 €) and the Château De Valmer (330 €).
From Nice airport it is a good hour and a half – considerably more in summer. For a short stay, a coastal address further east is the easier choice.
No, and we say so plainly: eight of our 37 properties are inland, some of them well into Provence.
Close to the coast are the Château Saint-Martin above Vence (from around 910 €), Hotel Le Saint Paul (245 €) and the Hotel Le Domaine du Mas de Pierre (225 €) in Saint-Paul-de-Vence, and the Terre Blanche Resort in Tourrettes (397 €).
Considerably further inland are the Chateau de Berne in Flayosc (338 €), the Ultimate Provence Hotel in La Garde-Freinet (160 €), the Villa Gallici Aix-en-Provence (330 €) and the Château de Fonscolombe in Le Puy-Sainte-Réparade (292 €). For these you need a car – Aix and Le Puy-Sainte-Réparade are a good two hours from the coast.
All 37 properties include breakfast for two. 35 of 37 add a room upgrade subject to availability – the exceptions are the Hotel Martinez Cannes and the Hotel Palais de la Méditerranée Nice.
A late check-out is held at 32 properties; the five exceptions are all inland. Twenty add a welcome gift and twelve a 100 USD hotel credit.
Only the Mondrian Cannes and the Hôtel la Pérouse Nice require a minimum stay, two nights each. No property on this coast holds an all-inclusive benefit.
May to June and September are the most balanced months: warm enough for swimming, without the crowds and rates of high summer.
Two dates are worth knowing because they set prices along the whole coast: the Cannes film festival in May and the Monaco Grand Prix in late May.
July and August are high season – especially around Saint-Tropez, where the drive also takes considerably longer then. From October to April the coast is quiet and good value; Nice, Cannes and Monaco work year-round, while some beach operations close.
