The hotel credit is 100 US dollars and applies to food and drink. Two limits come with it, and you need to know both.
First: the credit applies except in the restaurant Überfahrt – that is, not in the hotel’s gourmet restaurant. In the other restaurants and bars it does.
Second: it is not included in all rates. The rate you book therefore decides whether it comes along.
Third, and this matters to us: at the restaurant Überfahrt itself you pay as normal. We write it down because otherwise a guest counts on a credit that cannot be spent at the Überfahrt.
There are eleven categories to choose from, six of them suites, between 35 and 90 square metres. Five look out on the lake, three on the Alps and one on the lake from the side. Categories with an explicit alpine view are rare – here there are three.
Our advice: say when booking whether you want the lake or the mountains. Both are available from the smallest category up, and both cost the same.

What lies within reach: the Wallberg, 1,722 metres, with a cable car from the edge of the village; Tegernsee Castle, a former Benedictine monastery now holding a school and a brewery tavern; and the shore itself, with a path running all the way round the lake.
