On the bank of the Hai He, the Shangri-La Tianjin is part of Tianjin Kerry Centre and connects directly to the Riverview Place mall, so on a rainy day you can shop without getting wet. Contemporary Chinese art fills the lobby, the rooms look out on the river through floor-to-ceiling windows, and the Horizon Club Lounge is on the 32nd floor.
Shangri-La Tianjin · DazhiguAcross the river, the Banyan Tree Tianjin Riverside welcomes you as an urban retreat. Rooms come with a large Relaxation Tub and French windows facing the Hai He, and some look out on the Tianjin Eye. Part of the produce for the kitchen comes from the hotel’s own Happy Farm.

At The Ritz-Carlton Tianjin, the history of the former concessions is right on your doorstep. The neoclassical building from 2013 wraps around a European-style courtyard and is part of the Five Courtyards ensemble on Tai’an Road in the former British quarter. Pierre-Yves Rochon designed the Art Deco interiors with hand-painted murals, and the rooms have stone balconies, many overlooking downtown.
On the east bank, the Banyan Tree Tianjin Riverside stands in the former Austrian concession. The Conrad Tianjin lies away from the river, but its red-brick facade echoes the early-20th-century Western buildings of the Five Great Avenues.

The Hai He divides Tianjin. On the west bank, Heping district is home to the Five Great Avenues and their villas; on the east bank, Hebei district has the Italian Style Town, with Ancient Culture Street not far away.
