Fairmont Nile City CairoAmong the luxury hotels in Egypt there is the right one for every trip. For a city break we recommend Cairo with the Fairmont Nile City Cairo and its pool on the 25th floor above the Nile. If you are after temples and quiet, stay on the West Bank of Luxor in Al Qarna at the Al Moudira Hotel Al Qarna, set among palm groves. Families head to Hurghada on the Red Sea, where the Rixos Premium Magawish Hurghada has a kids’ club; food lovers go to Aswan for afternoon tea on the terrace of the Old Cataract Aswan.Which of the best hotels in Egypt suit you depends first of all on the region: city, Nile or sea.
The St. Regis CairoCairo on the Nile: In Cairo most of our guests stay on the Nile Corniche, close to the Egyptian Museum, Tahrir Square and Zamalek. At the Fairmont Nile City Cairo a butler looks after you on the Fairmont Gold floors, and at The St. Regis Cairo butler service comes with every room. Right next to the Egyptian Museum stands The Nile Ritz-Carlton Cairo, the former Nile Hilton; on Gezira Island you sleep in the round tower of the Sofitel Cairo Nile El Gezirah, with a balcony facing the river.
Kempinski Palace CairoHeliopolis and New Cairo: If you have an early flight, stay in the east: the Waldorf Astoria Cairo Heliopolis is a few minutes from the airport, beneath a glass atrium shaped like the Eye of Ra. In New Cairo the Kempinski Palace Cairo welcomes you with domes, a courtyard and butler service, and at the JW Marriott Hotel Cairo in Mirage City you play golf on 27 holes.
Giza and the pyramids: Our guide to Giza also covers Cairo’s Nile hotels. To stay closer to the pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum, choose the west: the Giza Palace, around 15 minutes away, or the Hyatt Centric Cairo West, with works by eleven local artists.
At no extra cost: you pay the same rate as booking direct with the hotel – the suitespot benefits come on top, free of charge.
Luxor and Aswan: On the West Bank of Luxor, near the Valley of the Kings, Al Qarna is home to the Al Moudira Hotel Al Qarna: ten domed courtyards with frescoes, a library of more than 7,000 books and ten hectares of palm groves. In Aswan, the Old Cataract Aswan has stood on a pink granite outcrop opposite Elephantine Island since 1899.
The Red Sea near Hurghada: South of Hurghada, the Rixos Premium Magawish Hurghada sits on its own stretch of beach: an ultra-all-inclusive resort made up entirely of suites and villas, with a surf and dive club.
Some of our addresses lie where we do not yet have a guide of our own: in El Gouna, on Soma Bay, in Sharm El Sheikh and on the Mediterranean coast. If you want a 5-star hotel in Egypt by the sea, you will find boutique hotels here as well as large resorts.
The Chedi El GounaFor couples on the Red Sea: In El Gouna, The Chedi El Gouna, with just 82 rooms, combines Asian aesthetics with a hillside setting and a private beach. La Maison Bleue El Gouna welcomes adults only: 13 suites in a powder-blue villa modeled on St. Mark’s Basilica, with antiques and no fixed mealtimes. On Soma Bay you stay at the Kempinski Soma Bay, built in Moorish palace style, with a large pool landscape and thalasso.
Sharm El Sheikh: On Nabq Bay, looking out to Tiran Island, the Rixos Sharm El Sheikh is an adults-only ultra-all-inclusive resort. Families book the Rixos Premium Seagate Sharm el Sheikh, with a private beach, a kids’ club and the Rixos Arena stage.
On the Mediterranean: In Alexandria, the Rixos Montaza Alexandria lies in the gardens of Montaza Palace, with the royal Salamlek of 1892, a private beach and a kids’ club. In New Alamein you stay at the Rixos Premium Alamein, an all-inclusive beach resort in the new city’s first high-rise.
Green New Cairo: In the Fifth Settlement, the Dusit Thani LakeView Cairo lies among gardens and ornamental lakes, with Thai hospitality and the Devarana Spa.

A beach feeling near Cairo: At The St. Regis New Capital Cairo there is an artificial beach with a wave machine, and at the JW Marriott Hotel Cairo a resort pool with a sandy beach.
A hammam is part of almost every spa in Egypt, yet each one sets its own accents.
Waldorf Astoria Cairo HeliopolisIn Cairo: At the Waldorf Astoria Cairo Heliopolis you lie on warm sand in the spa: psammotherapy complements the hammam scrub. The spa at the Fairmont Nile City Cairo is reserved for guests aged 18 and over, with a private Turkish hammam and a panoramic sauna. In the evening our guests are drawn to the water: to a terrace on the Nile or to the beach.

A grand hotel on the Nile: Thomas Cook had the Old Cataract Aswan built in 1899 for travelers on the Nile. Guests such as Winston Churchill, Tsar Nicholas II and Agatha Christie made it famous; Christie set parts of “Death on the Nile” here. Mandarin Oriental has managed the hotel since May 2026.
