In Corfu, olive groves and cypresses reach all the way to the coast, and the Old Town, with its arcades and two fortresses and its place on the UNESCO World Heritage list, tells of more than four centuries of Venetian rule. If you’re looking for a 5-star hotel in Corfu, your first choice is between the east coast south of the island’s capital and the quiet south near Molos.MarBella Corfu Mar-Bella CollectionMarBella Corfu Mar-Bella Collection · Ag. Conrad CorfuConrad Corfu · Molos

Since 2021, the Angsana Corfu has stood on the hillside above Benitses as Banyan Group’s first resort in Europe. Greek hospitality meets Asian influences here, and in the 35 pool villas as well as the pool suites you have your own pool.

There’s news at the MarBella Corfu Mar-Bella Collection too: an infinity pool with an outdoor hot tub right next to the waterpark, and the French à la carte restaurant Celeste for the evening.

Pools

These luxury hotels in Corfu have a pool – plus spa & wellness with Ionian Sea views

Pools for every taste: The infinity pool at the Angsana Corfu covers around 1,000 square meters. Angsana CorfuAngsana Corfu

Spa: Angsana Spa at the Angsana Corfu has eleven treatment rooms, most with sea views, two Rain Mist suites, a sauna and an outdoor hot tub with panoramic views. At Conrad Spa in the Conrad Corfu, the five treatment rooms include a couple’s suite with its own sauna and hammam; yoga, pilates and TRX are on the program too. At the MarBella Corfu Mar-Bella Collection, the sauna and steam bath are included in the all-inclusive package.

Dining

Dining at the luxury hotels in Corfu: beachfront cuisine, dine-around and Asia on the hillside

Fine dining on the beach: Right on the beach at the Conrad Corfu, a restaurant serves Greek cuisine from a menu by Alexandros Tsiotinis, whose restaurant CTC in Athens holds a Michelin star. Lunch is at the beach tavern, and the all-day restaurant cooks in the Corfiot tradition.

Variety for families: At the MarBella Corfu Mar-Bella Collection you choose between French cuisine at Celeste, Pan-Asian at Kum Kuat, Italian at Kuzina and mezze right on the beach at Deck Bar & Grill. With the Premium All Inclusive package you can also dine at the sister hotels Nido and Avali on the same coast, and in the evening Eleonas has live music with views over the olive groves to the sea.

History

Luxury hotels in Corfu with history: a family resort since the 1960s and a hillside below the Achilleion

In the late 1960s, Vassilis Dracopoulos Sr. bought land at Agios Ioannis Peristeron and built a 62-room complex he named MarBella, beautiful sea. In 1970, another 300 rooms and a tunnel to the beach followed. Today the third generation of the family runs the MarBella Corfu Mar-Bella Collection; the group now also includes Nido, Avali and Elix near Parga on the mainland.

The Angsana Corfu stands on the hill where the San Stefano hotel operated until 2008, below the Achilleion, the palace Empress Elisabeth had built. From the resort, the view stretches across the sea to the island’s capital.

Our tip: the Achilleion in the morning

From the Angsana Corfu it’s only a short way up to the Achilleion. Arrive right at opening time and you’ll have the garden with its statues and the view over the coast almost to yourself.
