Your guide to the best luxury hotels in Amman

Amman's luxury hotels are unusually concentrated: almost all of them sit in the western districts along the city's numbered roundabouts – and three of our seven properties stand at the 5th Circle alone. We currently feature 7 hand-picked luxury hotels in Amman, from The Ritz-Carlton Amman and The St. Regis Amman to the Fairmont Amman and the newest addition, Signia by Hilton Amman. Entry rates start at around 120 € per night – remarkably low for international 5-star brands. The Ritz-Carlton AmmanThe Ritz-Carlton Amman · ZahranWith every booking through suitespot you enjoy a comprehensive package of suitespot benefits:
  • Complimentary breakfast for two guests
  • Room upgrade subject to availability
  • Up to 100 USD hotel credit per stay
  • Early check-in & late check-out subject to availability
  • Regular points & status benefits in the hotel loyalty programmes

Amman's best-known properties stand at the 5th Circle in the west of the city: The Ritz-Carlton Amman on Zahran Street, The St. Regis Amman on Shafiq Al Hayek Street and the Fairmont Amman on Beirut Street in neighbouring Abdoun. At around 310 € and 270 € per night, the Ritz-Carlton and the St. Regis are also the two most expensive addresses in our Jordanian portfolio.

The other four are spread across the west of the city: the W Amman on Rafiq Al Hariri Avenue in the new business district of Al Abdali, the Signia by Hilton Amman on Al Qadi Ayad Street in Shmeisani, the Grand Hyatt Amman on Hussein Bin Ali Street and the InterContinental Amman in the Zahran district. All four start between around 120 and 160 € per night.

Luxury suites, apartments and the most spacious hotel rooms in Amman

Finding a luxury suite in Amman is easy: all seven properties have suite categories of their own, and two of them go further – with full apartments.Fairmont AmmanFairmont Amman · Fifth CircleThe longest line-ups belong to the two Marriott properties at the 5th Circle. The Ritz-Carlton Amman ranges from the Ritz-Carlton and Grand Suite through the Grand Skyline and Ambassador Suite to the Majestic, Kingdom and Presidential Suite. The St. Regis Amman offers the St. Regis, Metropolitan, Governors and Royal Suite as well as the John Jacob Astor and Caroline Astor Suite, named after the founding family – plus a Book Suite and several apartments.Personal luxury travel adviceOur travel advisors personally accompany your booking – 365 days a year, from the first offer to late check-out. Reach the suitespot VIP service via email or WhatsApp.Phone: +49 30 81452346 · hotel@suitespot.comAsk via WhatsAppWrite an emailFor spacious hotel rooms and longer stays, the Fairmont Amman is the most interesting address: it offers serviced apartments with one and two bedrooms as well as a Premium version, along with the Royal Residence, the Fairmont Penthouse, the Presidential Signature and the Amman Royal Suite. The W Amman takes the opposite approach, with generously sized room categories rather than many suites – Mega, Mega Corner and Supreme – complemented by Corner and Premier Suite and a Corner Penthouse.

At the InterContinental Amman the choice runs up to the Royal and Imperial Suite, at the Grand Hyatt Amman to the Grand Royal Suite, and at the Signia by Hilton Amman to the Panoramic and Ambassador Suite. Family categories are available at the Fairmont (Luxurious Family Suite), the InterContinental (Premium Family) and the Signia (Family).

Insider tip from our travel advisors

In Amman the differences between properties lie less in the price than in the extras. The InterContinental Amman guarantees a late check-out at 2 pm – not merely subject to availability, as is usually the case; with evening flights out of Queen Alia that is worth real money. The Signia by Hilton Amman credits you double Hilton Honors points.

One detail worth knowing in advance: the Grand Hyatt Amman requires a minimum stay of two nights, and the hotel credit there is 50 rather than 100 USD – in return, the upgrade is confirmed at the time of booking instead of on arrival. At the InterContinental, the credit is explicitly for food and beverage. Five of the seven properties have no minimum stay at all – the decisive point if Amman is a short stop on the way to Petra or the Dead Sea.

5-star hotels in Amman by area: 5th Circle, Abdali or Shmeisani?

Amman is built across seven hills and organised around numbered roundabouts, the Circles: the higher the number, the further west – and the more modern the district.InterContinental AmmanInterContinental Amman · ZahranThe entire luxury hotel scene sits in the west; the historic downtown with the Citadel and the Roman Theatre is 15 to 25 minutes away.

5th Circle & Abdoun – the prime address

Three of our seven properties stand at the fifth roundabout: The Ritz-Carlton Amman on Zahran Street, The St. Regis Amman on Shafiq Al Hayek Street and, in the adjoining villa district of Abdoun, the Fairmont Amman on Beirut Street. If you are looking for a 5-star hotel in Amman in a quiet, prestigious setting, this is the place – and these three also form the city's top price tier.

Al Abdali – the new centre

Al Abdali is Amman's youngest business and nightlife district, with a boulevard, a mall and high-rise towers. The W Amman stands here on Rafiq Al Hariri Avenue – the city's design address and the obvious choice if you want to head out on foot in the evening.

Shmeisani – the business district with short distances

Shmeisani is the established banking and office quarter north of downtown. This is where the Signia by Hilton Amman opened on Al Qadi Ayad Street – the newest addition to our Jordanian portfolio and, at around 140 € per night, one of the more affordable entry points.

Zahran & Jabal Amman – between downtown and the west

Slightly closer to the centre are the Grand Hyatt Amman on Hussein Bin Ali Street and the InterContinental Amman, both in the Zahran district. From here it is only a few minutes to Rainbow Street and Jabal Amman; at around 120 € per night, the InterContinental is the lowest entry rate in our portfolio.

What your rate covers – and where the differences lie

In Amman the suitespot benefits follow almost the same pattern everywhere – breakfast for two guests, an upgrade, a hotel credit, early check-in and late check-out – but the details differ, and at this price level they are noticeable.W AmmanW Amman · ZahranA 100 USD hotel credit is on file at five properties: The Ritz-Carlton Amman, The St. Regis Amman, Fairmont Amman, Signia by Hilton Amman and InterContinental Amman – at the InterContinental explicitly for food and beverage. At the Grand Hyatt Amman it is 50 USD, and at the W Amman a welcome gift takes the place of a credit.

With entry rates of around 120 to 160 € per night, a 100 USD credit covers a substantial share of the room rate in Amman – considerably more than in European capitals of comparable hotel standard. Together with breakfast for two, that is the real value of this destination.

Because the redemption rules differ from property to property – in the restaurant, at the bar, in some cases in the spa – our travel advisors clarify before arrival where your credit is best spent.

The best and the most expensive hotels in Amman

Asking for the best hotels in Amman gives you a manageable but clearly ordered answer across seven properties.

The highest entry rate belongs to The Ritz-Carlton Amman at around 310 € per night, followed by The St. Regis Amman at around 270 €. Both stand at the 5th Circle, both have the city's longest suite line-ups – and the St. Regis is the only property in Amman with the brand's signature butler service. After that the price level drops sharply: Fairmont Amman around 160 €, Signia by Hilton, Grand Hyatt and W Amman around 140 € each, InterContinental Amman around 120 €.

The median entry rate is therefore about 140 € per night: Amman is one of the most affordable luxury destinations in our portfolio – properties that would cost two to three times as much in Europe start here in the low three figures.

For a view over the city, the high-rise addresses are the right choice: the W Amman itself recommends the Spectacular High Floor Room, and The Ritz-Carlton has a dedicated view category in the Grand Skyline Suite. At the InterContinental and The St. Regis the recommended categories are the Deluxe City View and the Grand Deluxe City View respectively. Register your preference for a high floor with our travel advisors before arrival – floors are otherwise only assigned at check-in.

Business travel, excursions and exclusive services

For many guests Amman is either a business trip or the starting point for a wider tour of Jordan – and the two call for different things. For business, the W Amman in Al Abdali and the Signia by Hilton Amman in Shmeisani are closest to the office and banking districts; the Fairmont Amman, with its serviced apartments, is the right address for longer assignments. Five of the seven properties require no minimum stay, which makes short-notice trips easier.Personal luxury travel adviceOur travel advisors personally accompany your booking – 365 days a year, from the first offer to late check-out. Reach the suitespot VIP service via email or WhatsApp.Phone: +49 30 81452346 · hotel@suitespot.comAsk via WhatsAppWrite an emailAs a base for excursions the city is ideally placed: the Dead Sea, the Roman ruins of Jerash and the desert castles are day trips, while Petra and Wadi Rum are reached via the Desert Highway to the south. In the city itself, the Citadel on Jabal al-Qal'a, the Roman Theatre and the cafés of Rainbow Street in Jabal Amman are well worth the time.

Our travel advisors arrange drivers and guides and align the timings with your flights – Queen Alia airport lies around 35 kilometres south of the city.

As a suitespot guest you also travel with VIP status: we pass your preferences to the hotel before arrival – from a high floor with a city view to the occasion of your trip. Your stay then begins with the planning rather than at the front desk.
