At Anse Kerlan in the west is the Constance Lemuria. Our recommendation for anyone who wants to look into the sun in the evening: this side of the island faces west.
Between them, in the middle of the island, lies the Vallée de Mai – a palm forest listed as World Heritage in its entirety, where the coco de mer grows, the largest nut in the plant world. You walk through it in an hour and a half and need no guide to sense that this is older than anything else on the island.
For orientation: Praslin is reached from Mahé – and from Praslin it is only a few nautical miles further to La Digue and the island of Curieuse. Stay ten days and you see three islands without changing hotel.
