Your guide to the best luxury hotels in Al Khobar

Our selection in Al Khobar consists of 2 properties, with entry rates of about 130 € and 195 € per night — a gap of roughly a third, and the least expensive pair we list anywhere in Saudi Arabia.Kempinski Al Othman Hotel Al KhobarKempinski Al Othman Hotel Al Khobar · Al QashlahOne point is worth making straight away, because it is the question most people arrive here with: neither of our two houses is on the Corniche, and neither sells a sea view. Both are city hotels, and their room lists say so plainly. We would rather set that out at the top than let you discover it after booking.

With every booking through suitespot you receive a comprehensive package of suitespot benefits:
  • Complimentary breakfast for two
  • Room upgrade subject to availability
  • Up to 100 USD hotel credit per stay
  • Early check-in and late check-out subject to availability
  • Standard points and status benefits in the hotel programmes

The Kempinski Al Othman Hotel Al Khobar (from around 130 €) stands on King Saud Road with nine room categories from 37 to 131 square metres, four of them classified City View. It currently carries a discount of up to 20 percent on stays of three nights or more.

The Grand Hyatt Al Khobar Hotel & Residences (195 €) sits in the Olaya district with a much deeper inventory — 22 categories, including serviced apartments, Diplomat and Grand Executive rooms and suites, and a Royal Suite.

The Corniche question, answered honestly

More searches reach this page asking for a hotel near the Corniche than for anything else, and the honest answer is not the one the question expects.Grand Hyatt Al Khobar Hotel & ResidencesGrand Hyatt Al Khobar Hotel & Residences · StadtmitteAl Khobar sits on the Persian Gulf, and its Corniche is the reason many people choose the city. But neither of the two properties we hold here is on it, and more tellingly, neither lists a single sea-view room category. The Kempinski Al Othman classifies four of its nine categories as City View, with one further general view category. The Grand Hyatt classifies its view categories as City View as well. Not one Sea View between them.Personal luxury travel adviceOur travel advisors personally accompany your booking – 365 days a year, from the first offer to late check-out. Reach the suitespot VIP service via email or WhatsApp.Phone: +49 30 81452346 · hotel@suitespot.comAsk via WhatsAppWrite an emailThat is a statement about our selection, not about Al Khobar. Hotels on the waterfront exist; we simply do not work with them, and we would rather say so than steer you to a city hotel while implying otherwise. Room categories are the most reliable thing we can tell you about a property, because they come from its own inventory — and here they are unambiguous.

What our two houses do offer is a central position in a compact city. The Corniche is a short drive from both, and if an evening on the waterfront is part of the plan, that is easily arranged — it is the room outlook, not the access, that is the limitation. If a sea-facing room is a firm requirement for your trip, tell our travel advisors and we will say plainly that Al Khobar is not where we can deliver it, rather than booking you into a City View and hoping.

Where to stay: King Saud Road or Olaya

With two properties the map is quickly drawn, and both sit inland rather than on the water. We describe only the address each hotel states itself.

These two locations cover our whole selection.

King Saud Road

The Kempinski Al Othman Hotel Al Khobar (from 130 €), our entry price and the more compact of the two: nine room categories from 37 to 131 square metres, with Business, Classic and Executive suites above the Superior, Deluxe and Executive rooms. Four categories are classified City View. It collects in GHA Discovery.

Olaya

The Grand Hyatt Al Khobar Hotel & Residences (195 €), on Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Road. Twenty-two categories — more than twice the Kempinski's — including serviced apartments alongside the hotel rooms, which is the practical difference between the two addresses for longer stays. It collects in World of Hyatt.

Suites and apartments: what the room lists contain

The two properties are built for different lengths of stay, and their inventories show it more clearly than their rates do.

The Grand Hyatt Al Khobar Hotel & Residences holds 22 room categories, and the word Residences in its name is not decoration: alongside the hotel rooms it lists an Apartment and a Deluxe Apartment as their own categories. Above them sit a Diplomat Room and Diplomat Suite, a Grand Executive Room and Grand Executive Suite, a Grand Suite, a Royal Suite and a Club Access Room. For a stay of a week or more, or for anyone working in the Eastern Province rather than visiting it, the apartment categories are the reason to choose this address.

The Kempinski Al Othman is the tighter proposition: nine categories spanning 37 to 131 square metres, with Superior, Deluxe and Executive rooms below and Business, Classic and Executive suites above. Nothing here is an apartment; it is a hotel in the conventional sense, and priced about a third below the Grand Hyatt.

Because both houses serve a business city rather than a leisure one, availability follows the working week rather than the season — midweek is the tight period, not the summer. Our travel advisors check the specific category for your dates, and for stays of three nights or more it is worth asking about the Kempinski's current discount before comparing the two on rate alone.

What a 5-star hotel in Al Khobar costs

Entry rates are about 130 € at the Kempinski Al Othman and 195 € at the Grand Hyatt Al Khobar — a gap of roughly a third.

That makes Al Khobar comfortably the least expensive of our Saudi destinations. Our median entry rate is 263 € in Riyadh and 315 € in Jeddah, so both houses here sit at around half the rate of the major cities. Against the wider region it is inexpensive too: our median is around 160 € in Doha, 175 € in Abu Dhabi and 195 € in Cairo.

The Kempinski Al Othman currently carries a discount of up to 20 percent on stays of three nights or more, valid for travel through the end of September 2026. On a stay of that length it narrows an already small gap considerably, and it is worth putting into the comparison rather than judging the two on headline rate alone.

Neither property is all-inclusive. We check that against each hotel's own benefit list rather than against the brand, and no all-inclusive rate is held at either. Breakfast for two is included in every suitespot booking regardless, along with up to 100 USD hotel credit per stay.

Al Khobar, Dhahran and the rest of Saudi Arabia

Al Khobar rarely stands alone. It forms a single built-up area with Dhahran and Dammam, and a share of the searches reaching this page name Dhahran alongside Al Khobar — reasonably, since the distances within the Eastern Province conurbation are short. Both of our houses serve the whole of it; we hold no separate Dhahran address.

Our Saudi selection runs to 42 properties. Riyadh is much the largest group with sixteen and Jeddah follows with eleven; beyond them we hold three at Umluj on the Red Sea, two in Mecca and these two in Al Khobar. The Eastern Province is therefore thinly covered by comparison, which is worth knowing if your trip moves around the country.

Most guests who book Al Khobar through us are here for work rather than for a holiday, and what our travel advisors arrange reflects that: airport transfers to Dammam, which serves the whole conurbation, and the drive across the King Fahd Causeway to Bahrain, where we hold five further properties in and around Manama.

As a suitespot guest you travel with VIP status: we pass your preferences to the hotel before you arrive. Every booking includes breakfast for two, an upgrade subject to availability and up to 100 USD hotel credit. Both properties collect points — the Kempinski in GHA Discovery, the Grand Hyatt in World of Hyatt.

Frequently asked questions about luxury hotels in Al Khobar

Which luxury hotel in Al Khobar is near the Corniche?

Neither of ours, and we would rather be direct about it. Neither the Kempinski Al Othman nor the Grand Hyatt Al Khobar is on the Corniche, and more tellingly, neither lists a single sea-view room category. The Kempinski classifies four of its nine categories as City View; the Grand Hyatt classifies its view categories as City View as well.

That is a statement about our selection rather than about the city — waterfront hotels exist in Al Khobar, we simply do not work with them. Both of our houses are a short drive from the Corniche, so an evening there is easy to arrange; it is the room outlook that is the limitation, not the access. If a sea-facing room is essential to your trip, tell our travel advisors and we will say plainly that Al Khobar is not where we can deliver it.

How much does a 5-star hotel in Al Khobar cost?

Entry rates are about 130 € per night at the Kempinski Al Othman Hotel Al Khobar and 195 € at the Grand Hyatt Al Khobar Hotel & Residences — a gap of roughly a third.

That makes Al Khobar comfortably the least expensive of our Saudi destinations: our median is 263 € in Riyadh and 315 € in Jeddah, so both houses here sit at around half the rate of the major cities. The Kempinski currently offers up to 20 percent off stays of three nights or more, valid through the end of September 2026. With suitespot you always book at direct rates, and the benefits worth more than 500 € come on top.

Which hotels in Al Khobar have suites?

Both, but with very different depth. The Grand Hyatt Al Khobar Hotel & Residences lists 22 room categories, including a Diplomat Suite, a Grand Executive Suite, a Grand Suite and a Royal Suite, plus a Club Access Room.

The Kempinski Al Othman has nine categories from 37 to 131 square metres, with Business, Classic and Executive suites above its Superior, Deluxe and Executive rooms. Since Al Khobar is a business city, availability tightens midweek rather than seasonally — our travel advisors check the specific category against your dates rather than the room type.

Is there a serviced apartment in Al Khobar?

Yes, at the Grand Hyatt Al Khobar Hotel & Residences, where an Apartment and a Deluxe Apartment are listed as their own room categories alongside the hotel rooms. That is the practical difference between our two addresses for anyone staying a week or more, or working in the Eastern Province rather than visiting it.

The Kempinski Al Othman is a conventional hotel with nine categories and no apartment inventory — and about a third cheaper. If the length of your stay is the deciding factor rather than the nightly rate, ask us to compare the two on a weekly basis instead.

Which district of Al Khobar should I stay in?

Our two houses give two answers, and both are inland rather than on the water. The Kempinski Al Othman Hotel Al Khobar stands on King Saud Road, and the Grand Hyatt Al Khobar Hotel & Residences in Olaya, on Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Road.

Al Khobar is compact and forms a single built-up area with Dhahran and Dammam, so neither address is far from anything — the drives that matter are to Dammam airport and, for many guests, across the King Fahd Causeway to Bahrain. We describe only the location each hotel states itself rather than assigning it a district it has not claimed.

Do I earn points and status in Al Khobar?

Yes, at both — in two different programmes. The Kempinski Al Othman Hotel Al Khobar collects in GHA Discovery and the Grand Hyatt Al Khobar Hotel & Residences in World of Hyatt.

Booking through suitespot costs you nothing in points: you receive the standard points and status benefits of the programme, and the suitespot benefits — breakfast for two, an upgrade subject to availability, up to 100 USD hotel credit — come on top. With only two houses in the city and one programme each, collecting in either effectively settles the choice for you.

Is there an all-inclusive hotel in Al Khobar?

No. We check this against each hotel's own benefit list rather than against the brand, and neither of our two Al Khobar properties carries an all-inclusive rate.

Both are business-city hotels rather than resorts, so the question arises less often here than on the Red Sea coast — but the answer is the same, and we check it the same way. What every suitespot booking does include is breakfast for two, a room upgrade subject to availability, up to 100 USD hotel credit per stay and early check-in and late check-out subject to availability.

What other luxury hotels are there in Saudi Arabia?

Our Saudi selection runs to 42 properties. Riyadh is much the largest group with sixteen, followed by Jeddah with eleven. Beyond them we hold three at Umluj on the Red Sea, two in Mecca and these two in Al Khobar.

The Eastern Province is thinly covered by comparison, and worth planning around if your trip moves across the country — the flight from Dammam to Riyadh or Jeddah is short, and our travel advisors book the whole itinerary as a single file. From Al Khobar the King Fahd Causeway also puts Bahrain within easy reach, where we hold five further properties.
