Why we recommend it: Because it stands where no road leads. The property sets pavilions and villas into a garden between limestone and water; Phra Nang Beach with its cave lies directly in front, and in a rock niche on that beach the hotel runs the restaurant The Grotto. Krabi town is eleven kilometres away, the airport nineteen – but not by road; by water. Our recommended category is called Standard.
What you should know for this year: the hotel is renovating, by its own account, until November 2026. The main pool and the Raitalay Terrace restaurant are closed from 31 August to 20 October 2026, the tennis court from 1 September to 31 October. A new pool at the Nam Mao Lawn is complete and open, and the fitness room stays open throughout.

This hotel is laid out in an unusual way. It holds five pavilions, four villas – and one single room. A suite does not exist.
The pavilion as a room type is itself rare.
And now the point: our recommended category is called Standard – and that is precisely this one room. It is therefore the only way to stay here in a room rather than a pavilion or a villa.
The sizes begin at 90 square metres – the deluxe pavilion at 90, two more at 115 each, up to the family pavilion at 137. For scale: an entry at 90 square metres is unusually generous.
The package: breakfast, upgrade on arrival, early check-in and late check-out, no minimum stay – and the Leaders Club points, credited only if the club number is given at the time of booking.
Our advice: Decide first between room, pavilion and villa – and have the size confirmed. That is the question that actually settles something here.
Where to stay in Ao Nang: on Railay, between three beaches
The Rayavadee Krabi stands on the Railay peninsula – 300 metres from Railay Beach, 400 from Phra Nang Beach, three kilometres from the beach at Ao Nang, eleven from Krabi town, 16 from the Tiger Cave Temple, 19 from Krabi airport and 31 from Ko Phi Phi.
Those distances are straight-line, and here that matters: Railay has no road connection. The limestone cliffs cut the peninsula off from the mainland; you arrive by boat, from Ao Nang or from Krabi.
Our recommendation is therefore for anyone who wants exactly that – and for those who climb or swim in front of the door in the morning and need not leave in the evening.
What lies within reach: Phra Nang Beach with the Princess Cave, directly in front; Railay Beach with the climbing routes, three hundred metres; the lagoon inside the peninsula, reached by a scramble.
For orientation: Ao Nang lies three kilometres across the water, Krabi town eleven, Krabi airport nineteen and Ko Phi Phi thirty-one. On Railay one walks; everything else is a boat.

The room: one, named Standard. It is our recommended category and the only category at this hotel that is a room in the ordinary sense.
