The airport lies about 40 kilometres north of the centre, in Devanahalli. On the map that looks like just under an hour; in rush hour it regularly becomes considerably more. Which is exactly why our selection includes a hotel right out there: the JW Marriott Prestige Golfshire, on a golf course along the road to the Nandi Hills.
The Gokulam Grand at BEL Circle also lies north – on the airport side. The Conrad, the Ritz-Carlton and the Shangri-La are in the centre, the Leela Palace in the east.
Which gives you a rule that saves more time here than any other: put the arrival and departure nights in the north, and the days in between in the centre. Fly early and you sleep in Devanahalli and reach the terminal in twenty minutes. Come for the city and you stay by Ulsoor Lake and walk in the evening.

Where to stay in Bengaluru: the centre, the east or the airport side
From Kempegowda airport it is one to two hours into the centre depending on traffic; the expressway north is the most reliable link.
