Hyatt Regency Izmir Istinye Park · BahçelerarasıPrice therefore decides very little here. What decides is the district, and the two houses sit at very different points on the bay: one on the Kordon in Alsancak, at the water's edge, the other in Balçova to the west. Only one of the two sells a sea view at all.The Izmir Marriott Hotel (from around 115 €) stands on Gazi Bulvarı in Alsancak, the quarter along the Kordon promenade. It is the only property in our selection with stated view categories: two with a sea view, one with a partial sea view and three with a city view.
The Hyatt Regency Izmir Istinye Park (around 150 €) sits in Balçova to the west, beside the shopping centre it is named after. Seven room categories, including a Penthouse Suite alongside Regency and Regency Executive suites — but not one that states an outlook.
With two properties a ranking serves little purpose. It is more useful to say what each one is — and they differ more sharply than the small price gap suggests.
Izmir Marriott Hotel · İzmirThe Izmir Marriott Hotel is the city-centre address, at Gazi Bulvarı 1 in Alsancak, on the stretch where the city opens onto the bay. Six room categories: three City View, two Sea View and one Partial Sea View, with a Corner Room, a Corner Suite and a Presidential Suite above them. It collects in Marriott Bonvoy.Personal luxury travel adviceOur travel advisors personally accompany your booking – 365 days a year, from the first offer to late check-out. Reach the suitespot VIP service via email or WhatsApp.Phone: +49 30 81452346 · hotel@suitespot.comThe Hyatt Regency Izmir Istinye Park lies about seven kilometres west in Balçova, next to the Istinye Park shopping centre. Seven categories, from Room and Deluxe Room up to a Penthouse Suite, with a Regency Suite and a Regency Executive Suite in between. In our data none of these categories carries a view classification, so we do not assign the property an outlook it does not state itself. It collects in World of Hyatt.
In practice: if you want the waterfront promenade, the restaurants and the harbour on your doorstep, book Alsancak. If you prefer a quieter position to the west, with the shopping centre and the road out towards Çeşme, book Balçova. The two are roughly twenty minutes apart by car.
Izmir stretches a long way around its bay, and our two houses mark two very different points on it. We describe only the location each hotel states itself.
These two districts cover our whole selection.
The Izmir Marriott Hotel (from 115 €), Gazi Bulvarı 1 in the Konak district. Alsancak is the waterfront quarter where the city goes out in the evening, and the Kordon is the promenade along it. The only property in our selection with sea-view categories — two of them, plus one partial.
The Hyatt Regency Izmir Istinye Park (150 €), on Bahçelerarası in Balçova. The position beside the Istinye Park shopping centre is evidently also the search language: a noticeable share of the queries reaching this page name Balçova explicitly rather than the hotel. Seven categories up to a Penthouse Suite, quieter than the centre and the better starting point for Çeşme.
Room categories are the most reliable thing we can tell you about a hotel, because they come from its own inventory rather than its marketing. In Izmir the answer is unambiguous, and it falls on one property.
The Izmir Marriott Hotel is the only address in our selection where an outlook can be booked as a category. Of its six categories, two carry a Sea View, one a Partial Sea View and three a City View. That distinction between full and partial is unusually candid — many hotels collapse the two and call both a sea view. For you it means the difference is bookable, and worth naming when you book.
At the Hyatt Regency Izmir Istinye Park, none of the seven categories carries a view classification in our data. That is not a mark against the property — it stands on the slope above Balçova, and the bay is visible from the upper floors. But it is not in the inventory as a bookable category, so we do not claim it. If the outlook matters to you, our travel advisors confirm the actual position of the room with the hotel rather than promising a category that does not exist.
On suites the Hyatt leads: a Penthouse Suite, a Regency Suite and a Regency Executive Suite against a Corner Suite and a Presidential Suite at the Marriott. With only two houses in the city, availability rather than choice is the real constraint.
Entry rates are about 115 € at the Izmir Marriott Hotel and 150 € at the Hyatt Regency Izmir Istinye Park — a gap of under a third.
That makes Izmir one of the least expensive destinations we cover in this region. For comparison, our median entry rate is around 160 € in Doha, 175 € in Abu Dhabi and 195 € in Cairo, rising to 290 € in Riyadh and 400 € in Marrakech. Izmir sits below all of them.
What matters more than the level is how narrow the spread is. With two properties less than thirty-five euros apart, Izmir has neither a budget tier nor a premium one — you are choosing between two comparably priced addresses in two different districts. At these rates the 100 USD hotel credit and breakfast for two included in every suitespot booking cover a substantial share of a short stay.
Neither property is all-inclusive. We check that against each hotel's own benefit list rather than against the brand — on the Turkish Aegean the assumption is common, and it does not hold here.
For most of our guests Izmir is a base rather than a destination in itself. Ephesus lies about an hour to the south and Çeşme, with its beaches, roughly the same distance west — the shorter drive from the Hyatt in Balçova. Those are the journeys our travel advisors arrange most often, along with transfers from Adnan Menderes airport.
In the city itself the distances are short: the Kemeraltı bazaar, the clock tower on Konak Square and the waterfront promenade are all within walking distance of the Marriott.
Our Turkish selection runs to 62 properties. Istanbul is much the largest group with 37, followed by Bodrum with eight; Izmir holds these two. If your trip pairs the Aegean with Istanbul, we book both in a single file.
As a suitespot guest you travel with VIP status: we pass your preferences to the hotel before you arrive — here, most often one of the sea-view categories at the Marriott or a higher floor at the Hyatt. Every booking includes breakfast for two, an upgrade subject to availability and up to 100 USD hotel credit. Both properties collect points, in Marriott Bonvoy and World of Hyatt respectively.
suitespot rates are genuine direct rates: you keep earning regular points and elite nights in the hotel's loyalty program and retain your status benefits – on top of your suitespot benefits. These programs are represented in Izmir:
| Program | Hotels | Examples in Izmir |
|---|---|---|
| Marriott Bonvoy | 1 hotel | Izmir Marriott Hotel |
| World of Hyatt | 1 hotel | Hyatt Regency Izmir Istinye Park |
Entry rates are about 115 € per night at the Izmir Marriott Hotel and 150 € at the Hyatt Regency Izmir Istinye Park — a gap of under a third, and after Tangier the narrowest spread we list in this region.
That makes Izmir one of the least expensive destinations we cover here: our median entry rate is around 160 € in Doha, 195 € in Cairo, 290 € in Riyadh and 400 € in Marrakech. With suitespot you always book at direct rates, and the benefits worth more than 500 € come on top.
The Izmir Marriott Hotel in Alsancak — the only property in our selection where the outlook is bookable as a category. Of its six room categories, two carry a Sea View, one a Partial Sea View and three a City View.
At the Hyatt Regency Izmir Istinye Park, none of the seven categories states an outlook in our data. The property stands on the slope above Balçova, but a view is not bookable there as a category, so we do not claim one. Tell our travel advisors that the sea matters and we will secure the specific category at the Marriott.
Our two houses sit in very different quarters. Alsancak, on the Kordon, is the address of the Izmir Marriott Hotel (Gazi Bulvarı 1, Konak district) — the waterfront quarter, with the promenade, the restaurants and short walks to the Kemeraltı bazaar and Konak Square.
Balçova, to the west, is the address of the Hyatt Regency Izmir Istinye Park, beside the shopping centre of the same name. Quieter, about twenty minutes from the centre by car, and the better starting point for Çeşme. If you want to be on foot in the evening, book Alsancak.
Both, but the Hyatt Regency Izmir Istinye Park offers the deeper range: across its seven categories it lists a Penthouse Suite, a Regency Suite and a Regency Executive Suite.
The Izmir Marriott Hotel has a Corner Suite and a Presidential Suite, with a Corner Room as an intermediate step. With only two properties in the city, the constraint is availability rather than choice — the upper categories go first. Our travel advisors therefore check the specific category for your dates rather than the room type.
Yes, at both — in two different programmes. The Izmir Marriott Hotel collects in Marriott Bonvoy and the Hyatt Regency Izmir Istinye Park in World of Hyatt.
Booking through suitespot costs you nothing in points: you receive the standard points and status benefits of the programme, and the suitespot benefits — breakfast for two, an upgrade subject to availability, up to 100 USD hotel credit — come on top. If you collect in one of the two programmes in particular, that settles the choice in Izmir for you.
No. We check this against each hotel's own benefit list rather than against the brand, and neither of our two Izmir properties carries an all-inclusive rate.
On the Turkish Aegean the assumption is widespread because it travels with the destination rather than with the individual hotel — here it does not hold. What every suitespot booking does include is breakfast for two, a room upgrade subject to availability, up to 100 USD hotel credit per stay and early check-in and late check-out subject to availability.
We hold no reviews of our own for either property, so a ranking would be an impression rather than information. What the data supports is a clear split by what you are planning.
For position and outlook, the Izmir Marriott Hotel (115 €): Alsancak on the Kordon, two sea-view categories, the nightlife quarter on foot. For suites and a quieter base, the Hyatt Regency Izmir Istinye Park (150 €): three suite grades up to a Penthouse Suite, Balçova, closer to the road out to Çeşme. Since the two are almost level on price, the district decides rather than the budget.
Our Turkish selection runs to 62 properties. Istanbul is much the largest group with 37, followed by Bodrum with eight; Izmir holds these two.
Izmir is rarely booked on its own: Ephesus is about an hour south, Çeşme roughly the same distance west, and pairing the city with Istanbul or with the coast around Bodrum is the most frequent request we receive for Turkey. Our travel advisors book those trips as a single file, including the drives in between.
