Where to stay in The Bight: on Grace Bay Beach
The Palms stands at 16 Princess Drive, on Grace Bay Beach in The Bight.
Our recommendation for a first visit to Providenciales: the location is the beach. Grace Bay Beach begins in front of the resort, and because the reef lies offshore there is almost no surf – you walk into the water as you would into a pool.
The island is small. Providenciales is only about 25 kilometres long; Grace Bay with its restaurants is a few minutes away, and Providenciales airport is about ten kilometres off – a quarter of an hour by car.
If you want to go further: the boats to the cays and out to the reef edge leave from the north coast.
Suites rather than rooms: four categories from 59 to 279 square metres
There are four categories – and every one of them is a suite or a penthouse.
At the bottom is the Junior Suite at 59 square metres. Above it come the Suite and the Penthouse at around 149 each, and the largest units reach 279 square metres. There is also the Deluxe Suite with balcony; our travel advisors confirm its exact size before you book.

It breaks the waves before they reach the shore – which is why the water here is shallow and calm, and why you see something while snorkelling without having to take a boat.
The second is the sand. Grace Bay runs for kilometres, pale and flat, and because the island has little river and little soil the water stays clear after rain – unlike the green islands further south.
The third is the cays. Boats run from Providenciales to the small uninhabited islands offshore: Half Moon Bay, Iguana Island, the reef edge off West Caicos. Half a day, and you understand why the country looks the way it does.
