Why we recommend it: Because it is the largest hotel in the Kitzbühel Alps offering ski-in and ski-out: 156 rooms and suites, in winter skis on at the door and straight into the 216 kilometres of piste of KitzSki, in summer the hiking trails from the hotel. The spa has 3,600 square metres, three pools – heated indoors and out –, three saunas and twelve treatment rooms. The rooms: 36 square metres in the Deluxe to the mountain and in the Superior to the village. Above them only suites: 44 in the Classic Suite, 55 and 70 in two Deluxe Suites, 88 in the Family Suite, 105 in the Alpen Suite, 150 in the Jochberg Suite, 200 in the Tirol Suite and 520 in the Penthouse Suite – plus the Chalet Suite. Eleven categories – and the Penthouse Suite is among the largest suites we offer anywhere.
That means: our recommended Deluxe Mountain View is the entry point at 36 – and it faces the mountain, as seven of eleven categories do here. The four others face the village. Anyone wanting the mountains watches for the word Mountain: Superior, Family, Alpen and Jochberg Suite do not carry it.

Where to stay in Jochberg: on the piste, seven kilometres from Kitzbühel
The Kempinski Das Tirol Jochberg stands at Kitzbüheler Strasse 48 in Jochberg, in the hamlet of Ederdörfl – seven kilometres from Kitzbühel, nine from the Pass Thurn, 63 from Salzburg airport and 77 from Innsbruck.
Our recommendation is therefore for anyone wanting to ski Kitzbühel without sleeping in Kitzbühel – and for anyone who in summer would like to see the mountains from the spa.
What lies within reach: the Wagstättbahn, Jochberg’s valley station into the ski area, reachable on skis; Kitzbühel with the old town, the arcades and the Hahnenkamm, ten minutes; and the Pass Thurn with the Resterhöhe and the trails into the Pinzgau, a quarter of an hour.
For orientation: Kitzbühel station lies on the Innsbruck–Salzburg line; to Salzburg and its airport a good hour, to Innsbruck likewise, to Munich an hour and a half. In Jochberg one skis or drives; the bus to Kitzbühel stops outside the hotel.
