Raffles Doha · Marina DistrictThe useful thing to know before you book is that not all eight stand in Lusail itself. Five do – Raffles Doha, the Fairmont Doha and the Rosewood Doha in the Marina District, the Waldorf Astoria Lusail and Le Royal Méridien at Place Vendome. The other three sit a short drive south, at West Bay Lagoon and on The Pearl. Both groups are covered here, because that is exactly the choice most people are actually making. In Lusail proper, the Waldorf Astoria Lusail has the highest entry rate of the eight at around 260 €, followed by Raffles Doha in the Marina District (240 €), Le Royal Méridien at Place Vendome (215 €), the Rosewood Doha, also in the Marina District (160 €), and the Fairmont Doha at 145 € – a spread of well over a hundred euros inside a single district.
Immediately to the south, and the practical answer to a search for a hotel near Lusail: the Marsa Malaz Kempinski on The Pearl (around 210 €), The Ritz-Carlton Doha at West Bay Lagoon (175 €) and the Grand Hyatt Doha (120 €), the lowest entry rate on this page. All three are on the same coastal road, minutes rather than a journey away.
Every hotel on this page carries Doha in its name, and that causes real confusion. The addresses settle it.
Waldorf Astoria Lusail Doha · LusailFive properties give a Lusail address. Raffles Doha is on Marina East Street in the Lusail Marina District; the Fairmont Doha shares that district from Sixth Street, and the Rosewood Doha stands on Street 309 in the same marina quarter. The Waldorf Astoria Lusail Doha is in the ALAR development on Street 350, and Le Royal Méridien Doha at Place Vendome, the retail development in Lusail.Personal luxury travel adviceOur travel advisors personally accompany your booking – 365 days a year, from the first offer to late check-out. Reach the suitespot VIP service via email or WhatsApp.Phone: +49 30 81452346 · hotel@suitespot.comThree do not. The Ritz-Carlton Doha and the Grand Hyatt Doha both give West Bay Lagoon, the residential stretch between West Bay and Lusail. The Marsa Malaz Kempinski gives Costa Malaz Bay on The Pearl, the artificial island south of it.
Why keep all eight on one page? Because the distances involved are small – this is one continuous coastline, and Lusail is roughly fifteen minutes north of West Bay by road. If your reason for choosing Lusail is the marina, the stadium or Place Vendome, the five Lusail addresses are the ones to look at. If your reason is a beach, a lagoon setting or a lower entry rate, the three to the south are frequently the better booking. Our travel advisors will tell you which side of that line your dates fall on.
Lusail was drawn on a plan rather than grown, so its districts are distinct and easy to tell apart.
Fairmont Doha · Lisail CityThese three areas cover all eight of our properties.
The densest cluster and the most useful comparison on this page: Raffles Doha on Marina East Street (from around 240 €), the Rosewood Doha on Street 309 (160 €) and the Fairmont Doha on Sixth Street (145 €). Three properties in one quarter, all on the water, with almost a hundred euros between the top and the bottom.
Le Royal Méridien Doha (from around 215 €) sits at Place Vendome, and the Waldorf Astoria Lusail Doha (260 €) on Street 350. These are the two addresses for a stay built around the newer part of the city rather than the water.
Three properties, all on the coastal road between West Bay and Lusail: the Marsa Malaz Kempinski on The Pearl (from around 210 €), The Ritz-Carlton Doha at West Bay Lagoon (175 €) and the Grand Hyatt Doha on West Bay Lagoon Street (120 €) – the lowest entry rate of the eight.
All eight properties list suite categories, and in several cases the names are a straightforward guide to what you are booking.
The Ritz-Carlton Doha · Al KhulaifatAt Raffles Doha the categories are named for what they face – Urban, Crescent and Gulf, each also available as a Signature, plus a Parisian suite. Seven named categories is the deepest suite range in the Marina District. The Waldorf Astoria Lusail runs Corner, Deluxe, Presidential and a suite simply called the Lusail. Le Royal Méridien names its own after travel – Explorer, Adventurer, Ambassador, Royal and Presidential – and the Rosewood Doha keeps it short with Deluxe, Manor and Reef.
South of Lusail the ranges are just as deep: the Marsa Malaz Kempinski lists eight categories up to the Royal, and The Ritz-Carlton Doha names its own after Qatari places and materials – Amiri, Katara, Ivory, Cobalt and Quartz. The Fairmont Doha divides its range by Gold and non-Gold floors and by view, down to junior suites with a sea-facing or city-facing balcony.
Because entry rates here start at 120 to 160 €, the step from a room to a junior suite is often a smaller sum than the same step would be in Europe. Ask our travel advisors to price both for your dates – in this part of Doha the answer regularly favours the suite.
Entry rates across the eight run from about 120 € at the Grand Hyatt Doha to 260 € at the Waldorf Astoria Lusail. Four of the eight – the Grand Hyatt, the Fairmont Doha (145 €), the Rosewood Doha (160 €) and The Ritz-Carlton Doha (175 €) – start below 175 €, and the other four between 210 and 260 €.
Set that against the city as a whole and one thing stands out: across all 29 of our Doha properties the median entry rate is about 160 €, so this group sits above the Doha average without being at the top of it. That is what you would expect from the newest and most recently built district – there is no older, cheaper stock here to pull the figure down.
Within the Marina District the arithmetic is unusually clean, because three properties stand in the same quarter at 145, 160 and 240 €. Whatever you are paying the difference for there, it is not the location.
The other thing worth planning around is the calendar. Doha built a great deal of hotel capacity in a short time, and rates outside the big event weeks are low for the category – but Lusail is where the stadium and the racing circuit are, so its event weeks are the sharpest in the country. Moving a stay by a few days can change the rate more than changing the hotel does.
Most requests we receive for Lusail are tied to a date rather than to a hotel: a match at Lusail Stadium, a race weekend at the Losail circuit north of the city, or an exhibition. In those weeks the sensible approach is to fix the dates first and let us find which of the eight still has the category you want – and to consider the three properties south of Lusail, which are close enough to reach easily and frequently have availability when the marina towers do not.
Outside those weeks, Lusail is a quiet, spacious and very new place to stay. Our travel advisors arrange tables at the restaurants on the marina and at Place Vendome, transfers to the museums and the Souq Waqif in central Doha, and desert excursions inland – the same programme as from West Bay, with roughly fifteen minutes more driving.
As a suitespot guest you travel with VIP status: we pass your preferences to the hotel before you arrive – in Lusail most often a high floor facing the marina rather than inland. On top of that, every property includes breakfast for two, an upgrade subject to availability and up to 100 USD hotel credit. Two of the eight, Raffles Doha and the Waldorf Astoria Lusail, are rated 4.8 in our own reviews.
suitespot rates are genuine direct rates: you keep earning regular points and elite nights in the hotel's loyalty program and retain your status benefits – on top of your suitespot benefits. These programs are represented in Lusail:
| Program | Hotels | Examples in Lusail |
|---|---|---|
| ALL (Accor) | 2 hotels | Raffles Doha, Fairmont Doha |
| Marriott Bonvoy | 2 hotels | The Ritz-Carlton Doha, Le Royal Méridien Doha |
| GHA Discovery | 1 hotel | Marsa Malaz Kempinski The Pearl Doha |
| Hilton Honors | 1 hotel | Waldorf Astoria Lusail Doha |
| Rosewood Elite | 1 hotel | Rosewood Doha |
| World of Hyatt | 1 hotel | Grand Hyatt Doha |
Entry rates for our eight properties in and around Lusail start at around 120 € per night (Grand Hyatt Doha, West Bay Lagoon) and reach 260 € at the Waldorf Astoria Lusail. Four of the eight start below 175 €.
Within Lusail itself: 145 € at the Fairmont Doha, 160 € at the Rosewood Doha, 215 € at Le Royal Méridien, 240 € at Raffles Doha and 260 € at the Waldorf Astoria. For comparison, the median across all 29 of our Doha properties is around 160 € – Lusail is the newer and slightly more expensive end of the city. With suitespot you always book at direct rates, and the benefits worth more than 500 € come on top.
Two properties are rated 4.8 in our own reviews: Raffles Doha in the Marina District (from around 240 €) and the Waldorf Astoria Lusail Doha (260 €) – the two highest entry rates on this page as well.
Beyond that, the answer depends on what you want the stay to do. For the marina and the deepest suite range, Raffles. For the newer inland part of the city, the Waldorf Astoria or Le Royal Méridien at Place Vendome. For the same marina quarter at a much lower rate, the Rosewood Doha (160 €) or the Fairmont Doha (145 €). For water and space rather than towers, the three properties immediately south: Marsa Malaz Kempinski on The Pearl, The Ritz-Carlton Doha and the Grand Hyatt Doha at West Bay Lagoon.
Both, and the names do not help: all eight carry Doha in their title even when they stand in Lusail. Lusail is a district of the Doha metropolitan area, roughly fifteen minutes north of West Bay by road.
By address, five are in Lusail: Raffles Doha, the Fairmont Doha and the Rosewood Doha (all Lusail Marina District), the Waldorf Astoria Lusail Doha (Street 350) and Le Royal Méridien Doha (Place Vendome). Three are not: The Ritz-Carlton Doha and the Grand Hyatt Doha give West Bay Lagoon, and the Marsa Malaz Kempinski gives The Pearl. We list all eight here because they are the realistic shortlist for anyone searching for Lusail.
The five properties with a Lusail address are the ones inside the district itself: Raffles Doha, the Fairmont Doha and the Rosewood Doha in the Marina District, the Waldorf Astoria Lusail on Street 350 and Le Royal Méridien at Place Vendome.
On event weekends those five fill first and price highest. The three properties south of Lusail – the Marsa Malaz Kempinski on The Pearl, The Ritz-Carlton Doha and the Grand Hyatt Doha – sit on the same coastal road and are the usual fallback, often at a lower rate. Tell our travel advisors the date first: for a match or a race weekend the date determines the shortlist far more than the hotel preference does.
Yes, at all eight. Every property on this page belongs to a hotel loyalty programme, and between them they cover six different ones: ALL (Raffles Doha, Fairmont Doha), Marriott Bonvoy (The Ritz-Carlton Doha, Le Royal Méridien), Hilton Honors (Waldorf Astoria Lusail), Rosewood Elite (Rosewood Doha), GHA Discovery (Marsa Malaz Kempinski) and World of Hyatt (Grand Hyatt Doha).
Booking through suitespot does not cost you any of that: you receive the standard points and status benefits of the relevant programme, and the suitespot benefits – breakfast for two, upgrade subject to availability, up to 100 USD hotel credit – come on top. If you are collecting in one particular programme, tell us and we will start from that.
West Bay is the business skyline of Doha, on the Corniche and closest to the offices, the museums and the Souq Waqif. Lusail is newer, quieter and more spread out, built over the past decade around the marina, the stadium and Place Vendome, and roughly fifteen minutes further north.
The price difference follows from that. Our eight West Bay properties include entry rates as low as 70 €; the five Lusail addresses start at 145 €. There is no older stock in Lusail to bring the figure down. Choose West Bay for meetings and the old city, Lusail for the marina, the newer restaurants and an event at the stadium.
Every one of the eight lists suite categories. The deepest range is at Raffles Doha, with seven named categories – Urban, Crescent and Gulf, each also as a Signature, plus a Parisian suite. The Marsa Malaz Kempinski lists eight, from Deluxe up to Royal, and The Ritz-Carlton Doha names its own after Qatari places and materials (Amiri, Katara, Ivory, Cobalt, Quartz).
The Waldorf Astoria Lusail has a suite named after the district itself, the Rosewood Doha lists Deluxe, Manor and Reef, and the Fairmont Doha splits its junior suites by view and by Gold floor. Because rooms here start at 120 to 160 €, the surcharge for a suite is often modest by European standards – our travel advisors will price both for your dates.
This is the thinnest part of the selection, so it is worth being clear about it: only two of the eight list dedicated family categories. The Grand Hyatt Doha at West Bay Lagoon has a family suite, and Le Royal Méridien at Place Vendome lists deluxe, superior and superior studio rooms for families.
That does not mean the others cannot take a family – connecting rooms and larger suites are frequently available – but it is not a category you can simply select. Tell our travel advisors how many of you there are and how old the children are, and we will ask the hotels directly rather than have you guess from a room list.
