Four of our five properties are here, all a few minutes' walk from the cathedral: the Gran Hotel Claridge Granada on the Plaza de Villamena (from around 281 €) with five suite categories, the Seda Club Hotel on the Plaza de la Trinidad (258 €), the Hotel Palacio De Santa Paula Granada on the Gran Vía de Colón (230 €) with Junior and Grand suites and the Hospes Palacio de Los Patos Granada on the Solarillo de Gracia (202 €).
Above the city, right by the monument: the Alhambra Palace Hotel Granada – the only property in our selection not in the centre. It is also the only one for which our inventory holds an airport transfer and a lunch as benefits. The walk into the old town goes downhill, and the way back up accordingly – worth planning for if you eat in town.
What sets Granada apart from other Andalusian destinations is the share of historic town palaces: three of our five properties carry the palacio in the name and in the building.
Hospes Palacio de Los Patos Granada · StadtmitteThe Hotel Palacio De Santa Paula Granada (from around 230 €) on the Gran Vía de Colón offers Junior and Grand suites. Granada sits at the foot of the Sierra Nevada, so its climate is not that of the coast: hot, dry summers and noticeably cool winters.
The best months are April to June and September to October – warm enough for the gardens of the Alhambra, without the high-summer heat that makes a midday visit hard going.
Winter is the quietest and most affordable time, and the Sierra Nevada ski area is less than an hour away by car – a combination no other Andalusian destination offers.
