The Hospes Palacio del Bailio Córdoba stands on Calle Ramírez de las Casas Deza 10-12, in the old town of Córdoba – one kilometre from the Mezquita, 1.2 from the station, a good one from the Alcázar and the Roman bridge, eight from Medina Azahara and 111 from Seville airport.
Our recommendation is therefore for anyone wanting Córdoba on foot – and for those arriving by AVE: Madrid is just under two hours away, Seville three quarters of an hour.
What lies within reach: the Mezquita-Catedral with its columns and double arches, one kilometre; the Judería with the synagogue and the patios, in between; the Roman bridge and the Alcázar de los Reyes Cristianos with its gardens, a good kilometre.
For orientation: Medina Azahara, the caliphs’ palace city of the 10th century and a World Heritage site, lies eight kilometres west. Córdoba station with the AVE is a good kilometre away, the airports of Seville and Málaga an hour and a half. In the old town one walks on cobblestones.
